Surprise! I wasn’t working on one painting, I was working on TWO! I think I’m calling these finished. I wanted them to look quilted, and thought about drawing on little stitches but I think it’d be too chaotic on top of all the different patterns. I haven’t sealed them yet so I guess I have a little time to mull it over still.

Ok by’s, Deer Lake Market and Motors is going ahead despite the fact it’s pouring buckets right now. So… I will NOT be attending. Which is a bummer, it’s one of my favourite events of the year and one of the few times I vend in Deer Lake. (They should have just moved it to tomorrow imo). So I’ll be working on my next pieces today instead, so here’s a sneak peak of the sketch for one of them.

I'll be vending at the Main Street Market and Motors event in Deer Lake tomorrow from 4-8pm weather permitting, so everyone manifest some sunshine overnight!

If the event is postponed due to weather it's supposed to happen Thursday from 4-8pm instead and I'm still planning to attend, but let's hope it doesn't come to that.

Normally I take the day after a market as a rest day, but I’m going on mini-vacay with my family later this week so got some painting in today instead. This is another experimental piece on a 12x16” canvas. Basically it boiled down to: stipple until cry. It’s not totally dry yet so please excuse some of the highlights on the wet paint.

A quick experimental piece I did between yesterday afternoon and this morning. Emphasis on the experimental. A hot glue fish skeleton applied to a 12x16” canvas and then painted. I don’t usually do mixed media pieces so this was out of my usual comfort zone.
