The Community Services Department (Parks & Recreation) has a host of programs and recreation facilities open to everyone:

The Kenn Borek Aquatic Centre hosts not only two swimming pools, but also a rock climbing wall, an indoor playground and access to the indoor Wayne & Bev Dahlen Walking Track. The Kin and Memorial Arenas offer public skate, drop in hockey and dry floor drop in programs after t

🏒 Ice at the Memorial Arena! 🏒

Our staff have been hard at work preparing the rink and getting everything ready for another exciting season. The process starts with carefully cooling the concrete slab, building up a thin layer of ice, followed by painting the ice white, and then painting the lines and logos that bring the rink to life.

From there, layer by layer, we continue building up the ice to create a smooth, solid playing surface for our skaters and hockey players.

There’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes, but seeing the rink take shape makes it all worthwhile! Thank you to the 2026 Ice Making Team❄️

We’re excited to welcome the public back to the Memorial Arena and can’t wait to see the rink filled with skaters, players, families, and friends once again.

Family Fun is coming to the Kin Arena Sports Floor!

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of ARC Resources Ltd. and Coastal GasLink, Family Fun will be free for families over the next 3.5 months.

Join us every Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for family-friendly drop-in activities, games, and time to play together indoors.

Starting in September:
Free every Saturday from September 5 to 26

Starting in October:
Free every Saturday from October 3 to December 12

This is a great opportunity for families to stay active, have fun, and enjoy the Kin Arena Sports Floor together.

Drop in for unstructured play, active movement, toys and activities in a welcoming, kid-friendly space.
