The rumours are true… there’s a new face in our space!
We’re so excited to officially welcome Thomas Taylor as the Dawson Creek Art Gallery’s new Executive Director!
Thomas is stepping into this role with so much enthusiasm and is eager to get to know our community, support local artists, and help the gallery continue to grow. We’re thrilled to have him on board, please join us in giving Thomas a warm welcome to our gallery! If you see him around, don’t hesitate to stop by and say hello. Now, let’s get to know Thomas a little better…
“I was Raised in the North Peace region of Fort St. John, British Columbia. I grew up in the home of a practicing artist, where creativity was woven into everyday life. From an early age I was immersed into a wide range of artistic mediums and practices, growing a lifelong appreciation for the power of art to tell stories, build community, and inspire.
My own creative path led me to fashion design, I pursued a diploma from Blanche Macdonald Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia. This experience has shaped both my artistic visions and my approach to leadership, integrating creativity, collaboration, and a deep respect for the creative process.
I am thrilled and honoured to join the amazing team at the Dawson Creek Art Gallery and beyond grateful for the opportunity to serve this vibrant, strong community. I look forward to meeting the artists, makers, and supporters who make this region so special, and to celebrating the creativity, culture, and diverse voices that enrich our community.”
Welcome to the gallery, Thomas! 🤍
