Congratulations to our IDA dancers who participated in their CDTA National Ballet and Tap examinations this week💙

These dancers have worked diligently all season to prepare for their exams. Dance examinations are an important part of a dancer’s training, helping to build strong technical foundations, discipline, confidence, artistry, and goal-setting skills. They provide valuable feedback and encourage continuous growth and progress.

Preparing for an exam is a long process for both teacher and student, requiring dedication, consistency, and attention to detail. We are incredibly proud of the hard work and commitment shown by all of our exam candidates.

A special shoutout to Miss Kerry and Miss Rosie, who assisted Miss Dawn with final Ballet training sessions over the past several weeks, while Miss Jess prepared our Tap dancers for success.

We are so proud of each and every one of you and look forward to celebrating your achievements when the results arrive! ✨

Join us in congratulating our one IDA 2026 graduate, Bronwyn, as she shares some parting words with us💙 Bronwyn Eagan

After 13 years of dancing, it’s hard to believe this chapter has come to an end. I am forever grateful for the memories, friendships, and lessons that dance has given me. I’ll miss the late-night rehearsals, competitions, and performances, but most of all, I’ll miss being able to be myself alongside the people I love most. Dance has helped me grow into the person I am today, and I will always carry those experiences with me.

I am graduating from Woodlawn High School, and this fall I will be attending StFX to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with the goal of one day becoming a pediatric nurse at the IWK. A special thank you to Dawn and Jess for being the best teachers I could ask for!❤️

We all love you Ronnie, will miss you, and are excited for your future. We watched you grow at IDA over the past 5 years, into a beautiful, expressive dancer, and an amazing human💙

Shoutout to Miss Kerry & Miss Rosie who assisted Miss Dawn with final training sessions for our exam students over the past couple of weeks, and were present during exam sessions along with Miss Jess. We are proud to have only Certified Acrobatic Arts Teachers working with our Acro dancers, and this is demonstrated in the quality of teaching our students receive!

We are excited to announce our 5th Annual Year-End Showcase, Peter Pan — the story of a magical boy who never grows up. Peter lives on the fantasy island of Neverland, where he goes on adventures with:

🧍‍♀️👬 Wendy Darling and her brothers
🧚 The fairy, Tinker Bell
🏴‍☠️ The villainous pirate, Captain Hook

We are holding two shows at Alderney Landing Theatre on Sunday, May 31st:

🕐 1:00pm – Saturday Non-Competitive Dancers
🕟 4:30pm – Thursday & Sunday Non-Competitive Dancers

Our Competitive Dancers will perform in both shows.

Showcases will feature our non-competitive dancers, technical classes, and our Competitive Troupe pieces from the 2025–2026 dance season. Join us as our dancers bring their interpretation of Peter Pan to life, with spotlight moments featuring all of the beloved characters from the story.

Both shows are SOLD OUT, but we are continuing to add names to our waitlist via email, should tickets become available.

Adult: $25
Child/Student: $20
Lap Child (2 & Under): Free

This was our final competition of the 2025–2026 competitive season, and our dancers ended it with a bang! Our season has been filled with growth, dedication, resilience, and unforgettable moments both on and off the stage.

Over the last six days, we were not only inspired by our own team, but by every studio that took the stage. Watching so many talented dancers share their artistry, passion, teamwork, and love for dance reminded us what this community is truly about. The camaraderie backstage and support shown between studios made this event so special.

To our dancers — thank you for trusting us, working tirelessly, supporting one another, and leaving your hearts on the stage every single time. We are incredibly proud of the season we’ve created together, and the memories that were made along the way.
