The bullpen was created so that people who had a gripe had a place they could vent. (We wanted to keep these things off Barstools)
Today, I would like to discuss CIBC, their terrible service and what it’s like dealing with them. I was part of a business in 2004 that required a business line of credit. The business ceased in 2006, and the two other people who signed off have refused since then to honour their obligations.
From 2006 until 2015, I made the payments religiously. They were not a lot, and it provided a tax deduction. Mid 2015 I decided that I had paid an awful lot toward this when the other two hadn’t, so I made the first of what was multiple calls to discuss a settlement or resolution. Last month, I got the answer.
If you are doing the math, that is over 8 years of calls, emails, etc. by myself. Lost messages, no calls back, zero follow up, poor service, all around terrible experience. Last month I was told there was “nothing they can do”. My response, no, there is nothing you will do. Big difference. If I was a politician, board member, etc, they COULD do something. But the WON’T.
What I will says about CIBC, is that outside of ONE person, there was zero follow up, ZERO understanding and ZERO solutions. That goes from the local branch right up to the ombudsman’s office. Anyone I have an opportunity to discuss with, I will impart that CIBC is a terrible place to do business. Yes, they are a bank. But they repeatedly referenced that I have been a client since 1996. Well, 2023, no more. Yes, I could take the other two to small claims court. But similar to the tenancy board, it’s a useless and frustrating excerise.
