The Hobbyist is a collection of mindfully made home goods, inspired by family-life in the wild and remote setting of Tofino, British Columbia. Every piece represents a thoughtful moment, made to share.

I’ve always had a love for crafting, starting from when I was a young girl growing up on Vancouver Island. Some of my favourite childhood memories include hours spent crafting with my two sisters, mother and nana — yes, our house was always full of strong, creative female energy!

Remembering a time when the n**e body was admired for all it's flaws, modest, and natural. The beauty was in the rawness and realness of the subject, untouched by photo shop and innocent to modern day's idea of desire.
My artwork embodies a playfulness and practicality of the n**e. Although some tease the viewer with their sexuality, some are merely enjoying their n**eness.

Freebird Letterpress

We are Janine and Brett Sibley of Freebird Letterpress. We made the big move from Vancouver to Bowser in 2016. Leaving the city and living near the sea has been a dream of ours for a number of years. Brett was an offset pressmen for his entire career and with letterpress enjoying a new-found popularity, we decided to combine our love of printing and design with this wonderful art form. We design and print greeting cards on 100% pure cotton paper that is ideal for crisp, deep letterpress impression.

Emma Heitzmann

Emma Heitzmann is a ceramic artist inspired by the beauty of the natural world, especially forests on Vancouver Island. She blends sculpture and function to create one of a kind works based off a few of the beautiful mushrooms and fungi that grow here, as well as a cheerful series of works that celebrate and honour bees. Her works ask you to hold shapes and caress the surfaces to find one thats meant for your hands, no two are exactly alike.

Gretel Designs, a wearable connection to nature. Using foraged sprigs and beach combed shells from Vancouver Island, I use traditional silver smithing techniques as well as sterling silver in clay form to capture tiniest of details in my collections. All finished pieces are .999 or .960 silver.

Absolutely no synthetic fragrance oils, palm or paraffin wax. We use simple & natural ingredients, and nothing else. Coconut Wax, Soy Wax, Essential Oils, and a Cotton Wick.
