We're excited to announce that we have reached our goal of a $1000 donation to the CHEO Foundation!! Thank you to everyone who bought paintings and supported us along the way. While the initial goal has been reached, the painting and fundraising will keep going. Stay tuned for new paintings shortly (just in time for Christmas gift ideas).

Nous sommes excités d'annoncer que nous avons atteint notre but de 1 000 $ pour la Fondation CHEO!! Merci à tous ceux et celles qui ont achetés des peintures et/ou nous ont supportés. Même si l'objectif a été atteint, les peintures et le prélèvement de fond n'arrêtera pas. De nouvelles peintures seront affichés sous peu (en temps pour des cadeaux de Noël).

We wanted to share something we experienced over the summer. In July, we had someone reach out to have a custom painting made for her son who was turning 9. Our daughter was so excited to have her first commissioned painting! There was some back and forth to determine the artistic direction and after a week and a bit, we were ready to deliver the painting. This is where things started feeling strange. The person was suddenly in New York. Fine, we can ship it. Then the method of payment was a little off – depositing a photo of a cheque. But the last straw was when they said they “accidentally” wrote a cheque for 1,000$ instead of 100$. This is when we pulled the plug. Our daughter was super disappointed, but this was a good lesson about the realities of the internet.

The story has a happy ending as we found a new buyer who generously bought the painting for his nephew. So in the end it worked out, with a lesson on internet scammers.

Nous voulions vous faire part d'une expérience que nous avons vécue au cours de l'été. En juillet, une personne nous a contactés pour faire réaliser une peinture personnalisée pour son fils qui allait avoir 9 ans. Notre fille était super excitée d'avoir sa première peinture commandée ! Il y a eu quelques allers-retours pour déterminer la direction artistique et après une semaine et quelques jours, nous étions prêts à livrer la peinture. C'est là que les choses ont commencés à être étranges. La personne se trouvait soudainement à New York. Très bien, nous pouvons l'expédier. Ensuite, le mode de paiement était un peu bizarre - déposer une photo d'un chèque. Mais la goutte d'eau qui a fait déborder le verre était lorsqu'on nous a dit que la personne avait "accidentellement" fait un chèque de 1 000 $ au lieu de 100 $. C'est à ce moment-là que nous avons mis fin à notre conversation. Notre fille était très déçue, mais c'était une bonne leçon sur les réalités de l'Internet.

L'histoire s'est bien terminée car nous avons trouvés un nouvel acheteur qui a généreusement acheté la peinture pour son neveu. Finalement, tout s'est bien passé, avec une leçon sur les arnaqueurs sur Internet.
