It's with great regret that I am announcing the closing of the The Venue Performance and Visual Arts Society. I have been unable to secure a permanent location and sufficient funding to continue. Any property we have will be liquidated and applied to our debt, which is very substantial. I want to thank all those who have believed in my vision and poured their hearts and souls into the project. There comes a time, however, when the reality of the situation overrides the will to continue - and that time has come. Over the past 12 years, I have built and rebuilt this project 3 times. Now, at 67 years of age, I don't have the energy, the will, and the money to build it a 4th time. Again, thank you to all the awesome friends who have given of themselves in service to the vision. I believe we did accomplish our original goal of creating more music in this beautiful Creston Valley. Rock on my friends.

Hey! Mark your calendar - this August 10th Thursday, 7 pm @ Valley View Motel (behind the Creston Museum, between Valley View Dr & Devon St) we will be holding an organizational meeting for The Venue - Performance and Visual Arts Society. We will be outside under shade tents on the grassy event area.
Among the topics being tabled will be:
- The vision of The Venue
- Tour of the facility
- Our progress so far
- Grant funding & fundraising
- Nominees for positions of:
- Treasurer
- Equipment personnel
- Construction personnel
- Media/Public Relation personnel
- Other positions and personnel as decided upon there with such as personnel for stage sound & lighting, landscaping, concession booth, marketing, etc.

This will be an important meeting, please be there if you want to assist in making this entertainment park an incredible place.

We're looking forward to seeing you there.

Sept 8th 2 pm - 9 pm
Sept 9th 9 am - 5 pm
Location Creston Community Complex

Besides judging of local garden produce, baking & cooking skills, local craftspeople projects, animals and such, music will be provided through out the day by solo musicians, choral groups and bands that are willing to voluntarily contribute to the fair and have their talents showcased. A small honourarium will be provided to those who participate. Check with Rick Brown (250) 428 - ‎​(250) 428-6444 for more information regarding time slots, equipment provided etc.
