💙 With Deep Gratitude | Kootenay Regionals – Creston

Hosting Kootenay Regionals on our home ice was an incredible honour — and it would not have been possible without the dedication of so many.

Thank you to the volunteers whose countless hours of service brought this event to life. The work behind the scenes is immense, and it showed in every detail.

To the Judges, the Kootenay Regional Board, Data Specialists, and our Master Music Co-ordinator — your professionalism, precision, and countless unseen hours uphold the integrity and flow of our sport.

To the parents, skaters, and coaches of the Kootenays — thank you for your passion, sportsmanship, and the energy you bring to every competition.

Events of this caliber take a village, and WE CRESTON are most grateful to be part of such a strong and supportive skating community. 💙⛸️

Day 3

✨ Kootenay Regionals | Day 3 | Championship Sunday ✨
We opened the final day strong with Star 2/3 Solo Dance, where Zoe, Sadie, and Liam each performed two dances — the Canasta Tango and Baby Blues. 💃⛸️

Dance is judged on edges, flow, timing, and posture, and these three rose beautifully to the occasion.
🥉 Sadie and Zoe earned Bronze overall, showing growth, strength, and commitment.
🥇 Liam captured another Gold, skating big, confident, and technically sharp.

💫 Jeinessa – Star 4 FreeSkate (Skating Up!)
Taking on a new level is no small challenge — but Jeinessa absolutely belonged among this strong group of Kootenay ladies. Skating to “Be My Baby,” she delivered a courageous, determined performance that showed resilience and progress.

🌟 We finished the entire competition with our “littles” debuting their Star 2 FreeSkate Solos — and what a way to close out Regionals.

💃 Lexi grooved to “Better When I’m Dancing” with huge, flowing footwork.
🕊️ Zoe skated to “Fly, Fly, Fly” with the most expression I’ve ever seen from her.
🎭 Kenya performed to “Phantom of the Opera,” showing just how hard she can push when she commits.
❄️ Sadie delivered a brilliant skate to “Once Upon a December,” earning a personal best score and improving from EKI.

And beyond the medals and performances — I am so incredibly proud of the sportsmanship of CVSC. Watching our athletes cheer each other on, celebrate one another’s successes, and support their teammates from the boards is what makes this club so special. 💙

✨ Kootenay Regionals | Feb 14 | Day 2 ✨
Best Valentine’s Day ever. 💘⛸️
Day 2 on home ice was filled with heart, breakthtoughs and extreme courage!

🔥 Cassidy – Star 5 FreeSkate Finale
Her best warm-up of the season set the tone for a strong final performance. Focused, prepared, and composed. Great skate, Cass. 💪✨

💃 Tammy – Adult Silver FreeSkate
Skating to her first-ever Tango, Tammy leveled up in a big way—landing her first Loop and first Flip in competition! A milestone performance earning 3rd place. Strong, bold, and building momentum. 🥉

🏆 Alina – Adult Silver FreeSkate
Skating to “Vienna,” Alina’s program choice allowed her true passion to shine through. She commanded the ice with flawless jumps and confident presence, returning to the top of the podium with 1st place. 🥇

🌟 Jayda – Star 1 (First Competition!)
Her very first competition and she skated with pure joy, earning Silver and loving every minute. So proud! 🥈💕

💃 Hana – Star 4/5 Solo Dance (Debut)
Hana stepped confidently into her first Solo Dance event, setting high goals and delivering once again. Testing season ahead! 👀✨

🤍 We wrapped the day cheering on our very own Jeinessa in the Kootenay Team Synchro demo — such a special club moment.

🎤 And finally… we closed out the night with MJ — our team’s Michael Jackson performance. High energy, full commitment, lights outperformance🕺✨

Day 2 was filled with courage, celebration, and connection. A Valentine’s Day on the ice we won’t forget. 💘

✨ Kootenay Regionals | Day 1 | Creston Home Ice ✨
There is something powerful about competing on home ice — and Day 1 of Kootenay Regionals in Creston absolutely proved that Creston is ON THE MAP. 💙⛸️ Proud Coach moment from start to finish.
🔥 Liam – Star 3 FreeSkate
Moving up a level and skating like he belonged there, Liam earned GOLD with two of the most gorgeous Lutz jumps I’ve seen him deliver. Confident. Elevated. Ready. 🥇✨
🦋 Tammy – Adult Silver Artistic
A stunning performance earning SILVER, highlighted by a beautifully executed Rocker turn in her step sequence. And yes… the Butterfly Wing dress was perfection. 🥈💫
❤️👗 Jeinessa – Star 5 Artistic
Skating her final performance of “Big Spender” in her bold red dress, Jeinessa delivered confidence and personality, earning a Bronze medal out of 14 Kootenay skaters — and a personal best score. A powerful finish to this program. 🥉✨
💃 Cassidy – Star 8/9 Dance (Skating Up!)
Taking on a big challenge, Cassidy earned 3rd in the Harris Tango, 4th in the Blues, securing 4th overall. Strong edges and fearless commitment at a higher level.
🌟 SPICE GIRLS – Showcase 1
(Jayda, Kenya, Lexi, Sadie, Zoe)
Their very first Showcase event — and they brought the energy! So much team spirit, earning a Silver placement. 🥈💕
🎤 Lexi & Liam – Showcase 2 Duet
Skating to “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better” with full sass and personality — and earning GOLD! So entertaining and so well executed. 🥇✨
🏆 CRESTON IS BACK – Showcase Group

They owned the stage, skated in strong unison, and took GOLD. Powerful, polished, and united. 🥇
Day 1 made one thing clear — Creston skating is strong, fearless, and building serious momentum. So incredibly proud of every athlete who stepped onto that ice. 💙

Two more of our skaters in this weekend’s Skate Kootenay Kootenay Regionals Figure Skating Championships! And we also want to acknowledge two for whom we (meaning I - my apologies) didn’t get photos: Alina is skating in Saturday’s Adult Silver Freeskate at 11:30 (go, Alina!) and Hana will be launching her competition debut on Saturday afternoon with Star 4/5 Dance at 3:40. Let’s all get out and cheer them on

Our whole StarSkate team is busy with final preparations for the Skate Kootenay Kootenay Regional Figure Skating Championships in Creston this weekend - February 13-15. Our athletes will be on the ice at various times throughout the weekend and we hope you’ll come out to cheer them on!

Two more skaters who have been gearing up for the Skate Kootenay Kootenay Regional Figure Skating Championships happening in Creston this weekend - Friday to Sunday, February 13-15. Admission is free and our local skaters are performing throughout the weekend, so we hope you’ll come out to cheer them on! And don’t miss Saturday evening’s Team Showcase event, starting at 6:10 PM - fast, fun, high energy group performances from all ten clubs in the competition!
