Crit Club is Back in Session!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to our first Crit Club of the season, and to Scott Bertram for opening up his studio to host us! It was a wonderful way to kick off the 2026–27 season, with thoughtful conversations, seeing what folks have been working on and connecting with friends. We're so grateful to everyone who shared their work and everyone who showed up. We had a blast.

Curious About Crit Club?

Crit Club is a casual, drop-in monthly meetup where artists connect with one another, have the opportunity to give and receive feedback and learn new skills. Artists at all levels are welcome to present work for critique, or to simply come be part of the community and offer feedback to those who are sharing.

Crit Club fills a critical gap for artists outside traditional art training, offering a range of access points and support for artists at every level.

Save the date: Our next Crit Club is Thursday, October 22. Registration opens next week, so keep an eye out!

A friendly reminder that submissions are open for Present Tense, the 2026–27 CV/Arts + YQQ Arts & Culture Program.

Every year, more than 500,000 travellers pass through the Comox Valley Airport, making YQQ one of the region's most-seen exhibition spaces.

We're looking for new two-dimensional work created within the last 12 months — the work that's happening in your studio right now.

✦ Open to Central Island artists

This final exhibition of the year runs October–December 2026 at Tin Town Cafe, and it's a wonderful opportunity to share your work in one of the Comox Valley's favourite community spaces.

There's still time to join us this fall for CV/Arts After School Studio.

Over eight weeks, young artists will explore contemporary artists, experiment with unexpected materials, build sketchbook habits, and create work that's playful, thoughtful, and uniquely their own.

Early Bird registration ends tomorrow (September 5).
