I love Elaine Smith’s titles! Combined with her abstract style, the pieces tell the sweetest stories. I particularly resonate with this series: ‘She Searched for Greener Pastures’ (left), ‘Finding the Pot of Gold (in) Green’ (top right) and ‘The Upside of Green’ (bottom right). Last few hours to take in the ‘Bridging Conversations’ exhibition at Artful, till 5pm today.

Here’s your Thursday afternoon one minute art interlude…music on! 6 Comox Valley artists are featured in the exhibition ‘Bridging Conversations’. The group has been meeting monthly for the past couple of years, supporting, encouraging and inspiring each other. It’s the last few days of this exhibition, all over this Saturday at 5pm. ‘Bridging Conversations’ features the work of Miriam Myers, Corina Menz, Elaine Smith, Laurie Martz, Sharon Lalonde and Jenny Mitchell.

I think this collection is my favourite grouping in the exhibition, and in one shot would make an incredible ‘starter’ art collection, with a delightful mix of abstract and representational works by artists Elaine Smith (center vertical), Miriam Myers (top right & bottom left), Laurie Martz (bottom right) and Jenny Mitchell (top left).
