Monday morning with the muse …

I’m working on the next piece of my NL inspired mini series. I have a LOT of pic on my devices. Cause ya know, one must take pics when out roaming 🤣 andddd, why not use my pics for reference photos 🤷🏻‍♀️

This mini my version of a place close to home, a place of quiet moments and memories. A place I like to visit often.

Mornings with the muse …

I am thankful for quiet mornings. That slow quiet time before the day wakes up. I often have a piece in the works sitting on my table that has no plan, no agenda. It’s a piece that comes together over time. A piece that’s perfect for quiet mornings, like this one. She has gone through a number of changes and will get done in her time. A work in progress, as we all are.

So this morning while I wait for inspiration for my next mini painting I’ll hang out with her. Maybe she will have something to say, let me know what to add next, maybe she won’t. Either way, I’m thankful for the time well spent.

Around these parts the Weeball (Guernsey Island) is iconic. One of the many islands at the mouth of the Bay of Islands. I have sat at waters edge staring out at her countless times. Never disappointed, always in awe.

Yes, I’m still working on my NL inspired mini paintings. Here’s my work in progress, Weeball from one of my own pics taken in 2015, along with a woodslice from 2024.

T’is the season #3

Did you know …

The puffin is sometimes depicted as a guardian or messenger of the sea. Long ago, they were believed to be enchanted Manxmen connected to Manannán Mac Lir, the sea-god and lord of the Isle of Man.

I’m thinking this may be one of my favs so far 😉
