“My interest as an artist is in making pictures of things that the world can’t photograph.”
Throughout her career, Landon Mackenzie has been interested in systems that connect everything around us. Many of her paintings are composed of countless small marks, dots, and round cell-like organic forms that resemble particles, molecules, stars, or microscopic organisms. These repeated forms suggest that everything is made up of interconnected elements—even the space between people.
In her newest body of work, 𝘞𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘗𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯, Mackenzie pushes this exploration by working directly with natural phenomena to create her paintings.
