We have been busy. So busy that we have not updated y'all about the comings and goings with The Ordinary Productions - in quite some time.
That's changing now...
Some notable things to mention: The Ordinary's podcasting network has grown exponentially largely due to co-founder, Jordan Dowler-Coltman. With podcasts ranging from sports to literature to communication and leadership - there is a podcast for everyone. Check them out on Apple/Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.
Larisse Campbell has been busy with her directing, devising and dramaturgical work and has had the pleasure of travelling a bit with her art. In October of 2021, she was 1 of 3 directors invited to travel to Stratford, Ont to audition of the the Birmingham Festival as Stratfest has opened 1 role to directors for this fine program. She returned to over see the first reading of The Clearing by Brian Hinson at Carousel Theatre. November 2022, saw her devising and directing Palimpsest with Stone's Throw Productions at Pacific Theatre. January 2022, she became the artistic apprentice at Pacific Theatre for the season. During that amazing time, she had the immense pleasure of assist. directing for Sarah Rodgers on How the World Began, and directing the first reading of Abbamma by Keith Murray. She wrapped up her time, directing the Canadian premier of Wolves Are Coming for You by Joel Horwood at Pacific Theatre. August 2022 saw Larisse off to The Kennedy Center for guest directing with the KCTF program which filled her soul artistically and reminded her that artist are fighting the same battles both in Canada and the US. This month, she was lucky participant in Rumble Theatre's Directors Lab with Anita Rochan. She now turns her attention to the Canadian premier of The Unfortunates by Aoise Stratford at the Evergreen Cultural Center at the end of October.
She is also busy prepping (and crossing fingers for grants to come through) for a workshop of The Clearing by Brian Hinson, for March of 2023. (Show pictures will be posted in albums so please feel free to take a look.)
It goes without saying that we would not be able to do half the work we do without the continued support of our friends and families. If you are interested in the working we are making - please feel free to give us a like or reach out to us and we look forward to connecting with you all through our art in 2022 and beyond.
