The silver sharpie works as a resist but leaves the bare tile… would be nice to end up with black lines

I’m playing around testing tile techniques. Trying out stroke and coat glaze for the colour. Used a silver pilot marker as the resist. Trying a couple options for how to transfer an image/pattern and wondering if I should buy a Cricut??
What I really want to figure out is how to make a black resist that deposits colour when it burns off. I think it’s called cuerda seca. Anyone have a recipe they want to share?

The Tri City Potters had Markian Kyba give a wonderful presentation this week. One of the techniques he showed was using a mouth atomizer with slip on his pots. Had to try it out this weekend… if you follow along you know I have a ‘thing’ for ferns so it was inevitable!

Decided I’m going to try my hand at the Cuerda Seca technique that uses black resist and floods glaze. It f anyone had any tips to share I’d love to hear them.

I’ve got my baby/pet camera pointed at the kiln to keep an eye on things. Will he ready to unload tomorrow. Fingers crossed for a good firing since it’s the first time I’ve fired since replacing a part and re-calibrating the sitter.
