It’s our monthly Sunday Drawing in the Gallery time!

Join us for an open drawing session designed to encourage looking, slowing down, and spending time in the gallery space.

On Sunday, September 13, explore Landon Mackenzie: Weather Patterns. Looking at the dotted, sandstone-inspired canvases, you might see a charged nervous system, a celestial body, or the microcosm of a riverbed’s speckled surface. Take your time, look closely, and draw in whatever way feels comfortable to you.

All drawings are welcome! No experience is necessary, and supplies are provided. There is no expectation to create a finished artwork.

By donation. Pre-registration encouraged, drop-ins welcome. Recommended for ages 16+.

Family Days | September 12 | Public Art

Inspired by Cherry Archer : Botanical Ice Tiles, this Family Day invites families to explore light and shadow, lines, and colours through art.

Join us for a creative workshop that begins with a brief walking tour of the public artworks surrounding Evergreen Arts. Families will look closely at artworks big and small before returning to the studio to create a dynamic artwork inspired by the world around them.

Photographer and gardener Cherry creates sculptural compositions of plant material suspended in ice and illuminated with coloured light. Her Botanical Ice Tiles series appears as large-scale photographs on the windows of Lafarge Lake–Douglas SkyTrain Station.

PAINTED STORIES OF THE MOON with Jordanna George

Join local artist for a hands-on painting workshop inspired by the moon, reflection and colour.

After viewing Jordanna’s outdoor vinyl installation Full Moon, participants will explore lunar themes, light and shadow, and colour as mood. Create an acrylic painting on a wooden panel, playing with moon phases and circular compositions while reflecting on ideas of belonging, intuition and the seasons of life.

Kids ages 9–16 can turn pre-loved clothing into one-of-a-kind wearable art in Reimagine & Reinvent: Upcycled Fashion for Kids with educator Cyd Eva.

From sewing and embroidery to fabric painting and embellishing, young creatives will explore sustainable fashion while developing hands-on design skills—and create something uniquely their own. 👕🎨

No sewing experience? No problem! Whether they’re beginners or budding fashion designers, everyone is welcome to experiment, learn, and create.
