Show piece for the current exhibition 'Imaginarium: The Art of the Unseen' on display until October 10th at the Pearl Ellis Gallery.

'Imaginarium' is the collision between what is
and what could be.

The mind is chaotic, contradictory and ever-changing, thoughts push and pull between fear and curiosity, darkness and light. Within this friction, new connections emerge.

Then, for a moment, the noise settles.
The light comes on.
A thought becomes an idea.
An idea becomes possibility.
Possibility becomes form.

Imagination allows us to see beyond what exists - to envision what could be.

We are shaped by opposites. Without uncertainty, there is no questioning; without discomfort, no desire to change. Tension becomes the catalyst for creation.

I had the pleasure of attending the Long and Mcquade Teacher's Concert in Courtenay last month, and it did not disappoint! What an eclectic range of musical talent, with teachers certainly bringing their A-game to every performance. I personally enjoyed some original songs as well as the use of a banjo! I love the banjo, an instrument that inspired me to pair it in a very popular drawing - 'A T-Rex playing a Banjo'. Great job everyone! 👏

Shout-out to the lovely Pille Vibrant Ceramics | Handmade Pottery by Pille K. who I met recently at Nautical Days. A fellow vendor and lover of clay! I really enjoyed chatting to her about her journey to the pottery world 🌎.

This is one of her beautiful drippy travel mugs, that I couldn't resist. It has an opening for a metal straw, and it is a convenient size. It will be perfect for my morning smoothies! The market had an eclectic range of ceramic artists, with no two like the other!

The ‘Flourish’ exhibition at Pearl Ellis Gallery is on until June 20th, and I’m delighted to have two pieces currently on display and available for purchase.

Green Floral Vase is a ceramic slab-built and incised piece, while Nature’s Bounty is a mixed-media painting. Both works are inspired by the remarkable beauty of living things — how they thrive, transform, and continually evolve.
Nature’s Bounty holds a particularly personal element, as my 30-month-old son helped create the background of the painting. This collaboration became an opportunity for him to explore materials through making, and it felt meaningful to include his hand in the process. As he grows and develops his understanding of the world, he is also discovering, evolving, and responding to the beauty that surrounds him - he too is flourishing.
The painting became not only a reflection of nature’s abundance, but also of growth itself — the quiet unfolding of creativity, connection, and learning.
