Wow—it seems like such a long time since we enjoyed live music, theatre and films together at The Historic Gayety Theatre!

We closed our doors and suspended all operations on March 15, 2020 as the first wave of the Covid 19 pandemic hit, and we’ve been waiting eagerly and patiently ever since. For more than 20 months we have been sincerely grateful for your patience and continued support. 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝘆𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝘆, “𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂!”

We are writing to provide you with an update on our plans to reopen the theatre next month. The Province has recently allowed Theatres and Concert venues to open to full capacity—with several qualifications. We have been sifting through this material and are cautiously optimistic that it is time to open the doors again!

Our objective going forward is to make sure that our theatre is 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴, and that our staff, ticket holders and performers can rely on us to stay open. We are prepared to bring live events back to the theatre starting in January.

We are in the process of reopening our Theatre office. 𝗪𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲, 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝘀𝗼𝗼𝗻.

You will notice a few changes. We are very excited to roll out new events, features, and services to enhance your experience, so please stay tuned for more information.

As we move forward with the event schedule, we are contacting and coordinating with our promoters and performers. As we continue to confirm dates, we will be diligent in communicating the event information to you.

If you have a ticket for an event that had been postponed, you will receive a 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 in the coming days. Please keep an eye on your email, and respond there with any questions. These rescheduled events will also be listed on our website.

Existing tickets will be valid and useable for the rescheduled date. If you have a ticket and cannot attend the new date, your ticket may be gifted to someone else to use, which we would truly appreciate. Alternatively, we can move your ticket price to a voucher, the value of which which may be used toward any other event. More information about this process will be included when we reach out for specific events.

We appreciate your co-operation as we negotiate an improved theatre experience for our audiences.

We know that bringing entertainment, fun and joy to the Southern Georgian Triangle depends on the 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲! We look forward to resuming where we left off in March 2020 and providing you with a wonderful Theatre experience!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for being a part of the last three amazing years as we have been growing and breathing new life into The Historic Gayety Theatre.

We appreciate the responses from everyone who took part in our survey last week, we always value your feedback. We have looked through the results, considered the safety of our patrons, performers, and staff. As well as following guidelines put forth by our local and government health officials. We have made the tough decision to postpone the rest of our 2020 season.

All tickets will be honored at the later date. Please hang onto the original ticket as it will be automatically transferred over to the new date. New event dates will be announced as soon as we get updated information from government and local health officials regarding group sizes, infrastructure requirements and travel restrictions. Please follow our newsletter, page, and website for updates. Thank you for your understanding as we reschedule the upcoming events.

We were very excited to take a look in our new neighbours store, The Maker's Outpost Collingwood last week! They have now opened and have a lot of Canadian-made goodies instore for you to check out.
