Here acre woods homestead we are proud to have some of the cleanest eggs around the area.
Our eggs have proven in testing to be Hormone/Steroid/medication free, (homeopathic Dr. has tested them).

So the First baby bunnies of the season have arrived healthy and happy.
These pure bred California whites are bred in a stress free/cage free environment.
We allow nature to take its course, as in each female has been mated to a specific male that she enjoys being with. They share a coop and run with our retired chickens (2 hens see the photobomb in pics) who fuss over the babies as if they were thier own.
Each baby is looking for a forever home as a pet or for breeding stock.
Our females in this blood line have a minimum of 4 viable kits first time with very low instances of "peanuts" (or non viable kits). Our older girls (2yrs+) usually have up to 7 viable kits.

Ok so I just had a thought...what is the purpose of having a fairy door or fairy home in your house?
We have all heard of the "helpful Elves" who helped out the shoemaker in Hans Christian Andersen tales.
Fairies are much the same. They love being helpful if you are kind to them. Leave them a trinket and they will visit you often, perhaps they will help you keep track of your keys, or help your lost cat find its way home.
For those who have a hard time believing in Fairies, these doors can be a place where your child imagines the tooth fairy comes from.
Maybe your child had a great report card and they deserve a prize... easier to come from a Fairy than you ( that way you can spoil them without expectation of more gifts). Have fun with it. Write tiny notes from the fairy. Build elaborate tales of adventures your fairy might have. Involve your child in creating an imaginary life for your fairy who lives in your fairy door.
A fairy door can be a door to open your child's imagination and create a new way to interact and build memories with your child.
Also terribly cute!
They can be placed above a baseboard or up on the wall * if up on the wall, you may want a small ladder if your fairy doesn't have wings*

Hello again everyone! What a cold day out there. Great for sitting by the fire knitting!
I'm happy to announce that I officially have become the coordinator for the "Cochrane District chapter of Project Linus" (from the "Peanuts" cartoon).
This is a Nationally recognized children's charity fully staffed by volunteers. The web page is *Project Linus Canada, although please be patient while Lori the national coordinator loads us into the web page.
I personally would have benefited from this program had it if been around in the 70's as I spent a lot of time in surgeries as a child. I know this program touches a lot of lives and can make a real difference in a child's world.
Who would get one?
Any child who might be going through emotional distress. These blankets will be distributed locally to all children's services, hospitals and women's shelters. We as adults understand why they can end up in these places...children do not.
We are looking for volunteers or groups interested in creating hand made blankets ( knitted, crocheted, quilted).
We are also having a fundraising raffle to go towards supplies for our volunteer force.
You can buy tickets to win the blanket or coat rack at any of the craft markets that country crafts will be at or message me and we can get your name in the draw. Tickets are $5 each or $15 for 4.
We also are accepting donations of yarn, quilting supplies, knitting needles or crochet hooks.
Let's give a child a hug blanket.
Even if you don't have time to make a full blanket you can do squares and one of the volunteers or myself can put them together and make a blanket.

3 balls of wool done...9 more to go. This is the baby blanket that we will raffle off to raise money for more knitting supplies.
Between all the jobs and chores I'm hoping to have it finished by first week of November. Hoping to have it on display at the Christmas Markets.
Tickets are $2 each Draw will be in December...stay tuned for updates.
100% of the proceeds are supporting "Comfort Blankets for kids".

Comfort Blankets will be handmade by local volunteers (myself included).
They will go to local children's services, victim services, hospital and local women's shelter.
Purpose of the blankets is to provide a hug for a child who might need one, in the form of a blanket.
Life in a grown-up world can be traumatizing for a child who might not understand.
A new blanket can provide comfort when they need it most.
