28 days ago, I was making apple pie for my son's birthday.
As I was cleaning up the leftover bits of apple core, I noticed a seed had sprouted and somehow hadn't been hacked up during the chop fest.
"We should plant it," hubby suggested. He planted it in a vacant terracotta pot. We put it in the front window to see what happened.
A few days later, it popped through the surface of the soil.
A few days after that, the seed pod fell off and the leaves began to unfold. They stretched out, grew larger, stronger.
More leaves came.
More leaves are coming!
Look at this tree growing from a seed in a grocery store apple. Wow.
Can you imagine where our apple tree will be in a few months? Will I be harvesting apples to make more pie in September? 😆
Okay, maybe not, but it is marvellous to watch something so determined to flourish actually do so.
Marvellous creation.
