Why PreDance? 🩰✨

Because it’s about so much more than learning their first dance steps.

It’s watching the shy little one slowly find their confidence.
It’s making their first dance friends.
It’s learning to walk into class all by themselves.
It’s the excitement of mastering something new and saying, “Look what I can do!”
It’s discovering a place where they feel comfortable, capable and proud. 💕

PreDance is where little dancers begin building confidence, independence and a love of movement… one tiny step at a time.

And sometimes, that tiny step into the studio becomes a pretty big one. 🥹✨

Meet Miss Haylie ✨

Dance has been part of her life since the age of three, beginning with tap and ballet before entering the competitive dance world at five. She trained and competed throughout Canada and the U.S., while expanding her education through CDTA Jazz and Tap exams, hip hop training in Toronto, gymnastics and acro.

Her teaching journey began as a teenager and has now grown into more than 20 years of experience. Along the way, she earned certifications through Dance Masters of America, Artistic Gymnastics, Trampoline and Acrobatic Arts. She later fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening Twinkletoes Studio of Dance and Performing Arts, which she owned for more than 17 years and expanded to a second location in Cobourg, now Just Dance Northumberland.

While she has taught everything from Ballet and Tap to Hip Hop and Contemporary, Jazz and Acro hold a special place in her heart. More than technique or trophies, she believes the magic of dance is in the confidence, friendships and sense of belonging it creates.

Her favourite moments as an educator are the little wins that become BIG ones: the shy dancer finding their voice, a student overcoming a fear, mastering a new skill or simply discovering that the studio feels like home.

Today, she is proud to continue sharing her experience and love of dance with the students of Just Dance Northumberland, creating a classroom built on respect, trust, encouragement and plenty of opportunities to grow.

Meet Miss Stephanie ✨

Dance has been a part of her life since she first stepped into the studio at four or five years old. As a young dancer, she loved Jazz, later discovering a passion for Tap and eventually adding Hip Hop to her training. With a mother who is a dance teacher and former studio owner, dance education was always close to home.

Throughout her dance career, she has celebrated many memorable accomplishments. As a performer, she qualified to attend the World National Dance Championships in Germany with a tap quartet. As an educator and choreographer, she is especially proud of the numerous choreography awards she has received, including two Young Choreographer’s Awards early in her teaching career.

She loves teaching Jazz for its energy and excitement, Tap for its musicality, rhythm, and timing, and has developed a special appreciation for teaching Ballet to younger dancers. By incorporating imagination and creative movement, she strives to make foundational training engaging and fun.

At the heart of her teaching philosophy is the belief that strong technique and a love of dance can grow side by side. Her classes are designed to keep dancers active, engaged, and learning while creating an environment where students can genuinely enjoy themselves. She encourages dancers to work hard, arrive ready to learn, try their best, and most importantly, keep going when something feels challenging.

For her, the most rewarding moments aren’t necessarily trophies or performances. They’re the moments when a dancer recognizes their own progress, feels proud of an accomplishment, or makes a mistake and chooses to keep trying. She believes building confidence, perseverance, and a strong technical foundation at a young age can help turn an early love of dance into a lifelong passion.

Meet Miss Holly ✨

Dance has been a part of her life since the age of three. After growing up as a competitive dancer and training throughout North America, including at Broadway Dance Center in NYC, she continued her education at Randolph College for the Arts, earning a diploma in Musical Theatre Performance.

Throughout her performance career, she has appeared in productions including Anne of Green Gables, Jesus Christ Superstar, Cabaret, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and most recently, Beauty and the Beast with Northumberland Players. She has also served as dance captain for numerous productions and participated in workshops with touring Alvin Ailey artists and Tony Award-winning choreographer Sergio Trujillo.

Her favourite styles to teach are jazz, tap, and musical theatre, where she loves sharing her passion for musicality, performance, and storytelling. Drawing from both her dance training and professional theatre experience, she encourages dancers to listen closely to the music and discover the details that make movement come alive.

As an educator, she strives to create a safe, joyful, and encouraging environment where dancers feel comfortable asking questions, trying new things, and stepping outside of their comfort zones. She believes dance is an incredible way to build confidence, encourage creativity, and give dancers a space to express themselves.

Above all, she wants her students to work hard, stay open-minded, and never lose sight of the joy that brought them to dance in the first place.

Meet Miss Kelly ✨

Dance has been a part of her life since the age of four, when she began training in RAD Ballet. At six, she discovered competitive dance and expanded her training into Jazz, Lyrical, and Contemporary. After graduating from her competitive studio, she continued her dance education at York University, specializing in performance and choreography, with Contemporary and Lyrical becoming her favourite styles to perform.

Throughout her dance journey, her teachers have always been some of her biggest inspirations. From a young age, she looked up to them as positive role models, which inspired her to pursue dance at the post-secondary level and eventually step into the role of educator herself.

Some highlights of her dance career include earning Distinction on her RAD Ballet exams, becoming a member of the York Dance Ensemble, and performing in Bloom, a student-run dance production. She also had the opportunity to perform and choreograph in Dance Innovations and York Dances, York University’s choreography showcases.

As an educator, she is passionate about sharing her love and knowledge of dance with the next generation in a way that is safe, educational, creative, and fun.

For her, one of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching dancers grow, whether that means mastering a new skill, becoming more confident in the classroom, or seeing a once-timid dancer finally let their inner superstar shine. ✨

She encourages her dancers to arrive with a positive attitude, listening ears, and a willingness to learn. Above all, she wants every dancer who enters her classroom to know that it is a safe space to explore, learn, create, and become more confident in who they are.

Welcome Miss Kiaha ✨

Dance has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up with a mum who owned a dance studio meant I was surrounded by movement, music, and the dance community from the very beginning. I took my first belly dance classes alongside my mum at just two years old and began competitive dance around age four. I went on to compete for 14 years, including seven years with Just Dance.

Throughout my training, I have explored a wide variety of styles, including RAD and Cecchetti Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Acro, Belly Dance, and Hip Hop. Lyrical and Contemporary have always been my favourite styles to perform because they allow me to feel free, comfortable, and connected to the movement.

Some of my proudest accomplishments include becoming Acrobatic Arts Module One certified, competing at Summit Nationals and placing 9th overall in the Senior Solo division, and serving as co-captain of my school dance team during the 2025–2026 season after being a member for three years. I have also been grateful to receive recognition and awards for my choreography.

Teaching dance is something I have wanted to do since I was little. I grew up looking up to my dance teachers and loved assisting classes, getting to know younger dancers, and sharing the joy that dance brought into my own life. Before becoming an educator, I spent approximately five to six years assisting multiple classes each week. For the past four years, I have also helped run and teach summer and PA Day camps. This will be my third year teaching and my first season as a full educator after previously working as a junior educator.

In my classroom, I strive to create the same welcoming and positive studio environment that meant so much to me growing up. I believe in being clear, kind, and consistent with my students while creating age-appropriate choreography that challenges them without taking away their confidence. I expect dancers to arrive in uniform, with their hair up, ready to listen, learn, work hard, and bring a positive attitude to class.

Introducing Miss Bailee ✨

Bailee’s love for dance began at just two years old, and she entered the competitive dance world by age five. Since then, dance has remained a huge part of her life, taking her from the competitive stage to university-level performance, choreography, coaching, and teaching.

Throughout her training, Bailee has explored a variety of styles, with Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Jazz holding a special place in her heart. Some of her performance highlights include taking the floor during halftime shows for the Toronto Raptors, Harlem Globetrotters, and Toronto Argonauts, as well as performing at the Youth Dance Festival in Toronto. She continued her dance journey at Ontario Tech University, competing on the varsity dance team and serving as Team Captain for two years before becoming Head Coach in 2025.

Bailee began teaching as a teacher’s assistant in high school and choreographed her first routine at just 15. Since the age of 18, she has continued choreographing for the Ontario Tech University Dance Team while developing her skills as a teacher, mentor, and leader. She has experience working with dancers from age two through adulthood, specializing in Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, and Lyrical.

At the heart of Bailee’s teaching philosophy is connection. She strives to create a positive, respectful, and supportive environment where dancers feel comfortable challenging themselves, expressing their individuality, and building confidence. She loves breaking down movement, exploring musicality and artistry, and watching dancers bring choreography to life with their own personalities.

For Bailee, one of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching dancers discover confidence they didn’t know they had. She encourages her students to work hard, stay open to learning, support one another, and remember that progress looks different for everyone.

Bailee hopes every dancer leaves her class feeling supported, inspired, proud of their progress, and even more excited about the joy of dance. 🩵
