Little Rainbow Magic at The Caterpillar! 🌈

In celebration of Pride Month, our wonderfully creative in-house artisan and co-owner, Darcie Williams, has been busy working her magic.

Armed with her trusty wand (some people call it a crochet hook 😉), Darcie has stitched up a collection of beautiful rainbow hearts, each one holding the colours of love, diversity, acceptance, and belonging. These charming little creations are now available as fridge magnets — a simple but meaningful reminder that everyone deserves to be seen, celebrated, and loved exactly as they are.

Stop in and have a peek at Darcie's latest creations while they last. Each one is handmade with care and a whole lot of heart.

We're absolutely delighted to welcome the incredibly talented Alex Be to The Blue Caterpillar Emporium for a special after-hours concert experience on Saturday, June 27th.

With a voice that is both powerful and deeply moving, Alexandra has built a reputation for her soulful, emotionally rich performances. A singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and educator, Alex blends heartfelt storytelling with stunning vocals that leave audiences captivated long after the final note.

Her music draws from personal experience, creating performances that are intimate, and authentic.

If you've attended one of our previous musical evenings, you already know these events have a way of becoming something special. From sold-out performances to evenings filled with laughter, connection, and a little bit of magic, our after-hours events have quickly become some of the most beloved experiences we've hosted at the tea house.

Reminder that there is a men's group gathering tonight at The Blue Caterpillar Emporium.

Doors open at 6:20 for a 6:30pm start.

Group is for discussion and support. A safe, secure, non-judgemental space to help sort thoughts and feelings, or to just 'be'.

Meet David!

If you've spent any time at The Blue Caterpillar Emporium, chances are you've already met one of our most enthusiastic regulars: David Nicholls.

In fact, there's a good chance David greeted you before one of us did!

David is often the first to welcome folks through the door with a cheerful hello and, before long, he'll be passionately explaining why our coffee is so good. (Yes, we know we're a tea house. We hear about the coffee a lot too. 😂)

When he's not visiting The Caterpillar, you'll find David working at the Co-op Gas Bar on Bench Road, riding the bus into Duncan to hunt for treasures at his favourite second-hand shop, or sharing stories about the incredible bargain he found this week.

He's a big fan of music, music technology, and conversations about both. He's also a collector of stickers. Lots and lots of stickers. Some he keeps, many he gives away simply because sharing them makes him happy.

David is also our unofficial Parking Lot Guardian. In exchange for helping keep our lot tidy and free of debris, he earns himself a complimentary coffee each day.

Now, we'll be honest: David can be wonderfully enthusiastic. If you stop to chat, you may discover he has enough stories, facts, and observations to fill your entire afternoon. But behind that enthusiasm is a genuinely kind-hearted fellow who loves people, loves conversation, and cares deeply about the community around him.

So next time you're in, say hello to David. He'll almost certainly say hello first.

There are moments when our souls know ~ it's time to slow down, release, and simply return to ourselves.

That can look like many different things. For me today, it meant joining friend and biz partner Lana in a back-woods hike to forage broom sticks; greeting my favourite trees, and being visited by forest dwellers, followed by a lakeside lunch.
