Gamzook’aamin aakoziwin was honoured to commission this original artwork by Saugeen First Nation artist Jeannette Ladd as a commemorative gift presented to dignitaries including SON Chiefs and Ontario Government Ministers Feb. 27 in Kincardine. Jeannette’s beautiful art and her thoughtful artist statement perfectly captured the spirit of the partnership expansion. Miigwetch to Jeannette of Aniibiish Nibi Art!

Creating art for elders is always something very special.

These pieces were created for the Huronlea and Huronview Homes for the Aged in Huron County and were inspired by the land that surrounds these homes. The fields, the water, the sky, and the quiet spirit of the animals and plants that live there. They reflect the rhythm of the seasons and the feeling of belonging to a place that holds so many memories.

Alongside these installations we also spent time creating together. Each small canvas carries its own colours and personality, and when they come together they become a shared piece of joy.

Miigwetch to my sister for her help and for sharing in this creative journey with me. It meant so much to create these moments together.

Art has a way of bringing people together through stories, colour, and the simple act of creating side by side.

Its finally up!

This mural is now installed and living in its space at the Mississauga transit!

Rooted in Anishinaabe teachings and relationships to land, water, sky, and the beings who move between them, this work is a reminder that even in busy places, those connections are always present.

Miigwetch to everyone who helped bring this project to life and trusted me with this space.

It’s finally up ✨

This mural for Mississauga Transit is now installed. Seeing the artwork translated into large scale printed vinyl and become part of the daily movement of people passing through makes it feel complete.

Rooted in Anishinaabe teachings and relationships to land, water, and sky, this work is a reminder that those connections are always present, even in busy places.

Miigwetch to everyone who helped bring this project to life.

Today marked the opening of this space, and it was an honour to gather and share this moment with the community.

This mural is inspired by the Four Seasons and reflects Anishinaabe teachings of renewal, growth, gratitude, and rest. The land, water, sky, and the beings who move through them remind us that each season carries its own responsibilities and gifts.

Miigwetch to the Town of Saugeen Shores for the trust and opportunity to create this work, and to all those who helped bring it to life.

I’m grateful beyond words to have been chosen for the Mississauga Transit Terminal murals. Thank you to every person who submitted feedback. It means so much that the community connected with this work and took the time to lift it up.

Sharing this process with the other artists was a true honour. Their creativity and vision remind me how strong and diverse the artistic community is, and I’m grateful to have stood alongside them.

I’m looking forward to bringing this vision to life and sharing it with everyone who passes through the terminal. 🌙🌿💛

Honoured to Be Shortlisted for Brampton’s New Parkette Installations!

Grateful to share my proposals for Bangan Park and Mashkiki Park with STEPS Public Art and the City of Brampton. 🌿

Bangan Park – Circle of Quiet
Guided by the Four Directions with four 12’ cedar story poles and a quiet cedar-chip circle for reflection.

Mashkiki Park – Strength of the Earth
Four hand-painted panels honour the elements and the Four Sacred Medicines, with live-edge benches connected by a river-like resin inlay.

These designs invite visitors to slow down, notice the land, and connect with Indigenous teachings.

You can share your comments on the STEPS website:

Water has always felt alive to me
a gentle keeper of stories, moving through day & night
between land & sky, carrying memory & spirit 💧🌞🌙

Within the water rests a heart, a reminder that love, balance & life flow together ❤️
The four colours yellow, red, black & white honour the teachings of the Four Directions
and the harmony that connects us all 🌿

Created for a gathering with the Nuclear Waste Management Organization
inspired by the teachings that remind us
that water is life & life is sacred

🧡🦊 We Remember 🦊🧡

Today and every day, we honour the children who never made it home, the Survivors, and the families and communities forever impacted by residential schools.

The fox, a messenger and guide, carries teachings of adaptability, cleverness, and protection. With a heart at its center, it reminds us that remembrance is rooted in love, resilience, and truth.

A heartfelt Miigwech to Cheree Urscheler for her dedication and commitment to the Every Child Matters campaign. Your efforts ensure that the voices of Survivors, families, and communities are honoured and never forgotten. 🧡
