I just finished my piece for , with all proceeds supporting those affected by Alzheimer's!

The 2026 Postcard Art Exhibit scene represents the obstacles Alzheimer's patients face with fallen trees on the water. The changing leaves symbolize the passage of time and lost memories. Yet, the tall trees surrounding the water remind me of the people who love and support them and help them journey forward.🍂🍁

I have included the reference photo. I took this photo on a school field trip to Thompson Regional Park in Chilliwack. I'm thrilled that this part of my life will find itself all the way to the Netherlands for a good cause. 🫶

My latest painting! I will reveal the whole painting soon. This was a new experience for me as I used water soluble oil paints from and I love working with them.

I first used acrylic paints for my underpainting before proceeding with using the oil paints.

I enjoyed painting this local scenery. A snapshot of the colourful burst of colour Spring brings to our part of the world.

The hiking boots once again walk this path through the forest. The tall trees encapsulate the area with a mysterious ambiance as they tower over, dimming the sunshine trying to get through. The sounds of your steps on the forest floor are accompanied by the sounds of water nearby. You feel truly alive and thankful for experiencing this beauty. The wildness of it also makes you alert to the animals you may meet along the way. You finally reach this secluded spot where the emerald clear water is deeper than it looks. You take a moment to catch your breath and sit on one of the rocks and take it all in. Life is good.

Where do you like to go that is secluded and in nature? What is your favourite thing about it? Share below.

One of my favourite activities is to take a leisurely walk by the Vedder River. The mountains in the distance add the perfect backdrop to the ever changing river.

At times, the water is rushing so fast and deep that it's impressive in power, and at other times it slows to a quieter pace allowing you to enjoy the sounds of the rustling leaves and the melody of songbirds. 🐦

I find that getting out in nature nourishes the soul. It seems to ground you to what is important. As much as I love aspects of the modern world and its impressive cities, going back to nature feels like home. 🌿

Do you have a favourite place to clear your head?

My personal painting project!

I needed a painting for our bedroom that would not be overpowering. The bedspread already has a busy pattern even though the hues are soft.

I found this photo I took while walking at the Vedder River trail. Simple tree blossoms 🌸 seemed just right for this project.

Since there is no pressure painting something for myself, I experimented a bit. Here is what I used on the gallery wrapped canvas:

I used acrylic paints, which included &

I also included water soluble oil paints from

October's travel painting! 🍂
A quick getaway brought us to this beautiful lake between Merrit and Princeton. This acrylic painting is the result!

I love how calm the lake is, creating a glassy reflection of the sky. It was so peaceful.

As some of you know, this past 2 years has been a difficult one for our family. We have lost family members, and this year, my beloved dad. It became very difficult to get back into art as all you creative people know; our creations are part of us. It's an expression of our mind and heart. Therefore, the sadness took its toll.

I am happy to see that I am able to start painting again and finding happiness after loss. The last two paintings have been a big step in the right direction for me. ✨️

🔸️For those going through difficult times, take it slowly, each accomplishment no matter how small matters!

This original acrylic painting is on a 12" x 16" wood panel. I will most likely paint a larger version in the future.
