A beautiful ceremony doesn’t just happen. It’s carefully planned.
When we sit down with our couples at Four Diamond Events, we go through all the little details that make their ceremony feel like THEM.♥️
Who is part of your processional? Parents? Grandparents? Your entire wedding party? Will some of the wedding party already be waiting at the front?
Who will walk you down the aisle — one parent, both parents, someone special, on your own, or even together as a couple?
Would you like to reserve a chair for a loved one who has passed and have someone place a flower there during the processional?
Will your wedding party stand or sit in the front row? Who has the rings? Where will the little ones go after they walk down the aisle?
Then there’s MUSIC. What plays for the wedding party? Do we switch songs before you enter? What plays while you sign your marriage licence? And what’s your recessional song?
We also talk about everything happening around the ceremony. First look or first touch? A first look of the reception space? Is everyone arriving together? Will anyone greet guests? Photos on-site or off-site? Do guests move right into cocktail hour?
And your vows? Many of our couples read them from vow books these days... which we love. You’re already emotional — why add the pressure of memorizing them?
These are just SOME of the details we carefully document and coordinate.
At the Chatham Armoury, COORDINATION IS INCLUDED. We’re also there for your rehearsal and play your ceremony music so you can practise everything exactly as it will happen.
Because we don’t overbook our venue, you get to rehearse in the actual space, relaxed and unrushed.
On your wedding day, you shouldn’t be worrying about who walks when, where everyone stands or when the music starts.
You should simply be taking it all in.
We’ll take care of the rest.

“Where should we go for our wedding photos?”

Honestly… just about anywhere.

One of the things we LOVE about the Chatham Armoury is the incredible variety of photo opportunities — inside, outside and everywhere in between.

The grand entranceway. The beautiful historic interior. The staircase. The exposed brick. The twinkle lights and chandeliers. Quiet little corners with gorgeous light. The green doors along the side of the building. The historic exterior out front. Tecumseh Park. The rooftop. And so many unexpected spots that photographers seem to discover every single wedding.

You can go from romantic and elegant, to historic and dramatic, to urban, natural and completely unique — all within steps of your celebration.

And that means something on a wedding day.

Instead of spending precious time travelling from location to location, you get to stay present. Enjoy your people. Soak in the excitement. Have a drink. Laugh. Celebrate. And still capture an incredible variety of photographs along the way.

So when our couples ask…

“Where should we get our photos done?”

Our answer is pretty simple.

Watch it once for the music.
Watch it again for the feeling.

There is something so special about those final moments before a wedding ceremony begins.

The musicians start to play. Guests slowly make their way to their seats. The room is ready, every detail is in place, and you can almost feel the anticipation building.

In just a few minutes, someone will walk down that aisle and one of the most meaningful moments of their lives will begin.

For this beautiful ceremony, Wedding Belles of Windsor created the most incredible atmosphere with live violin and piano, while To Suit Your Fancy designed the ceremony space using lush, high-quality artificial florals down the aisle and for the floral pillar backdrop.

It’s these moments we love most at the Chatham Armoury — when the music, the atmosphere and every little detail come together to create a feeling you never forget.

There is something I absolutely love about opening the doors of the Chatham Armoury.
♥️
The moment the lights come on and this beautiful old building comes to life, I feel so much gratitude for what we get to create here. Through Four Diamond Events and Armoury Special Events, along with our amazing team, we’ve had the privilege of filling this space with weddings, celebrations, corporate events, community gatherings, Christmas magic and so many incredible memories.

But when I really think about it, it’s the people who bring this building to life.

Out of billions of people in this world, somehow our paths cross. Couples trust us with one of the biggest days of their lives. Businesses gather their teams here. Vendors share their talents. Families celebrate milestones. Our community walks through these doors and fills this old building with life, love and connection.

And I’m just so grateful you exist — and that somehow, our stories have crossed along the way.

We are SO excited for what’s ahead this fall. More beautiful weddings and events, our Christmas Market, the return of our sponsored Christmas trees, and some new community initiatives that are very close to our hearts.

There is so much good ahead.

So grateful to keep opening these doors and welcoming you in.

The after-dinner photo hour. 🤍

One of our favourite parts of a wedding day is that little window right after dinner when we encourage our couples to capture a few more of those special moments.

Cut the cake. Pour the champagne tower. Slip into that second outfit if you have one. Take the photos. Have some fun with it.

Your photographer and videographer are still there, everyone is relaxed, and you have the perfect opportunity to capture all those beautiful details you’ve spent so much time planning.

Then… you’re done.

Kick off your shoes, hit the dance floor, and enjoy the rest of the night with your favourite people.

Kayla & Gabriel did exactly that, and we absolutely love these moments from their day. The best weddings leave room to be present and actually enjoy the celebration you’ve worked so hard to create.

There is so much that happens behind the scenes of a beautiful wedding day or corporate event, and one of the things we are most proud of at the Chatham Armoury is the incredible food that comes out of our kitchen.

Tina, Tony, Len and the entire Lentina’s Catering team bring years of experience, passion and care to every single event. Their food is prepared fresh the day of the wedding, using fresh ingredients, cooked right in our kitchen and served straight from the oven to the plate. Nothing sitting around. Nothing reheated. Just really good, homemade food prepared with love.

And they will customize just about anything. Every couple is different, every family has their favourites, and Tina and Tony genuinely care about creating a meal that feels right for the people gathered around those tables.

The comments we hear from our guests say it all. Time and time again, people tell us how incredible the food was—and there is something so special about watching hundreds of people sit down together and share a beautiful meal.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have Lentina’s Catering as our exclusive culinary team at the Armoury. Tina, Tony, Len and your entire crew, thank you for the long hours, the experience, the laughter and the heart you bring into that kitchen every weekend. We appreciate you more than you know.

And I have to give a little shout-out to Joe Evers, who somehow always finds his way into the kitchen when it’s time to plate dinner—calling out the plates and helping keep everything moving. It truly takes a team.

Beautiful celebrations deserve incredible food, and we are so proud of the people behind every plate that leaves our kitchen. 🤍

There are beautiful weddings… and then there are weddings where you can feel the intention behind every single detail.

Last Saturday, Kayla & Gabriel’s day was exactly that.

Every choice felt thoughtful and personal — the décor and design, the flowers, the music, the incredible food, the bar selections, the lighting, the little details tucked throughout the Armoury. Nothing was simply there to fill a space. It all felt like them.

And when all of those details came together, they created something even bigger — an atmosphere. A room filled with warmth, incredible food, beautiful music, laughter and so much love.

It also takes an amazing group of people working together behind the scenes to bring a day like this to life, and we were so grateful to work alongside such a wonderful team of vendors.

Kayla & Gabriel, thank you for trusting us with your vision. It was such a joy watching all of those thoughtful decisions become the backdrop for a night you and your families will remember forever.

THE MAGIC OF THE SWEETHEART TABLE

There’s something about the sweetheart table that gets me every single time.

When I’m creating it, I’m not just thinking about the backdrop, the lighting, the draping of the fabrics, the balance of the asymmetrical design, the candlelight or how it will become the focal point of the room. I’m thinking about everything that is going to happen right there.

For months—sometimes more than a year—a couple makes hundreds of little decisions about one extraordinary day. And then suddenly, there they are… sitting side by side at their sweetheart table, looking out at all of it.

The people they love most are gathered in one room.
The food they carefully chose is being served.
The flowers are blooming. The candles are glowing. The music is playing.

And somehow, in the middle of a day that is absolutely flying by, that little table becomes home base.

They kiss. They smile. They hold hands under the table. They listen to speeches that make them laugh until they cry and cry until they laugh. They get up for hugs. They sneak away for sunset photographs. They come back for dessert. They look around the room trying to take it all in. And somewhere in there, they’re anxiously waiting for the moment when it’s their turn to stand up and somehow find the words to thank everyone they love.

It’s an emotional roller coaster in the most beautiful way.

And every time I create a sweetheart table, I think about that.

Last weekend, this was Kayla & Gabriel’s place. Their custom backdrop. Their table. Their view of a room filled with the people who came to celebrate their story.

That’s why I want it to feel magical.

Because I’m not simply decorating the focal point of a room.

I’m creating the little place where two people will sit together and watch one of the biggest days of their lives unfold.

And when all the flowers, fabrics, candles and beautiful details are stripped away, what is really happening at that table is wonderfully simple.

Two people. One incredible day. And a whole lot of love.
