Before I forget…

Happy Anniversary, Katie and Andrew.

On July 6, you’ll be celebrating two years of marriage, and looking back at these incredible photos captured by my good friend Johnny Lyons, I can’t help but smile.

I still remember meeting this amazing couple when they came to tour the Chatham Armoury. They were from Detroit, and as passionate travelers who had explored destinations around the world, having their wedding reception in another country felt like the perfect reflection of who they are.

When they told me they were from Detroit, my first thought was, “Why don’t more Americans get married at the Chatham Armoury?”

With the exchange rate, it’s an incredible value, and for guests, it feels like a mini destination wedding—something unique, memorable, and a little different from the ordinary.

After saying “I do” at their church in Detroit, approximately 135 family and friends crossed the border to celebrate in Chatham. Johnny captured stunning photos in Detroit, including some beautiful shots at the Renaissance Center, before everyone made their way to the Armoury for an unforgettable evening.

Guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner, danced the night away to Weekend ComeBack , sipped on Hugo Spritzes, and capped off the evening with late-night poutine—because if you’re celebrating in Canada, you have to embrace the full experience.

As if that wasn’t enough fun, Ribfest was taking place in the park that weekend, so Katie and Andrew made the most of it by heading out into the midway for a few playful photos that perfectly captured their adventurous spirit.

What I remember most, though, is how kind, genuine, and joyful these two were throughout the entire planning process and wedding day.

Thank you for trusting us with such a special celebration. Wishing you both many more years of love, laughter, adventure, and unforgettable memories.

It’s been a few weeks since Avery & Derek’s wedding, and I’m still thinking about the magic of that day.

Some weddings are beautiful. Some weddings are memorable. And every once in a while, a wedding transports you somewhere else entirely.

This was one of those weddings.

More than 3,000 blooms transformed the Armoury into an enchanted world inspired by Lord of the Rings, secret gardens, and fairytales. The aisle was lined with stunning peonies, snapdragons, gladioli, and countless other blooms in the most vibrant colours imaginable. Flowers have a way of bringing life and energy into a space, and this room felt absolutely alive.

The unique gold tree standing against the olive velvet backdrop created a magical focal point, while every corner revealed another thoughtful detail. And then there was the pickle fountain — a guest favourite and one of the most talked-about features of the night! As a fellow dill pickle lover, I completely understood the excitement.

Everything about the space invited people to slow down, look around, and simply be present. It felt like stepping into another world for an evening — one filled with wonder, beauty, and joy.

What stood out most, though, wasn’t the décor.

It was Avery & Derek.

They have a beautiful way of embracing life, and once the dance floor opened, they were all in. Laughing, dancing, celebrating, and making the most of every single moment. There was so much energy, love, and fun in the room, and it reminded everyone there what weddings are really about — creating memories with the people you love most.

It was truly an honour to help bring this vision to life and to witness such a beautiful celebration.

A rare weekend without an event at the Chatham Armoury gives us a chance to recharge, catch up on planning, and look ahead to all of the beautiful weddings still to come this year.

It also gives us a moment to reflect on some of the incredible celebrations we’ve had the privilege of being part of.

One of our absolute favourites was the wedding of Madeleine and Nick last October.

From the moment we started planning with them, we knew their day was going to be special. The décor was stunning, the colours were beautiful, the energy in the room was contagious, and their dance floor? Unforgettable. Every detail reflected who they are as a couple—fun, genuine, stylish, and completely in love.

This was one of those weddings where you couldn’t help but smile all day long.

So here’s to Madeleine and Nick—espresso martini style. ☕🍸

What a night.

Yesterday, we had the honour of celebrating Sydney and Michael as they officially became husband and wife at the Chatham Armoury.

After 11 years together, these two share the kind of love that is rooted in friendship, trust, and genuinely enjoying life together. One of the most touching moments of the day was hearing them read letters they had written to each other when they were just 16 years old. It was a beautiful reminder of how far they have come together and yet how that young love has stayed with them with so much vibrance.

One of my favourite memories happened during rooftop photos. Mike was hot, so we escaped to a little room off the rooftop with some fans so he could cool down and dry off. It was hilarious. Sydney untied Mike’s perfectly tied bowtie, and he immediately reminded her how long it had taken him to get it just right. As he stood there retying it while using my phone as a mirror, the banter between them was nonstop. They had me laughing the entire time.

That little moment summed them up perfectly. They are best friends. They have fun together. They are completely themselves with each other.

Sydney and Mike, thank you for allowing us to be part of such a beautiful day. Your love story is something special, and we wish you a lifetime of laughter, adventure, and happiness.

There were so many compliments on the food by our in-house phenomenal chefs, Tina & Tony, of Lentinas Catering. The dessert table was absolutely amazing with so many family favorites, lovingly baked by the bride's mom and grandmother. The gorgeous floral centrepieces were by . The signage was printed by and made sure Mike & Syd's vision came to life. 🤍 AND hats off to our amazing bartenders who kept the drinks flowing all night. You all are truly da best!!!

Tomorrow is a very special day at the Chatham Armoury as we celebrate the wedding of Sydney Abbruzzese and Michael Herzog.

What a joy it has been getting to know these two throughout their wedding journey. After 11 years together, they have built a relationship filled with love, friendship, trust, and genuine connection. They are truly beautiful people, both inside and out, and we couldn’t be happier for them.

Last night’s rehearsal was one of those moments that reminds us why we love what we do. A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of teaching Sydney and Mike their first dance, and before rehearsal began, they gave us a little preview. I could immediately tell they had been practicing. They moved together with such confidence, grace, and connection that it honestly brought tears to my eyes.

The entire evening felt warm, relaxed, and filled with excitement for what is to come. Their families and friends are in for such a beautiful celebration, and we are incredibly honoured to be hosting this special day.

Sydney and Mike, thank you for trusting us to be part of your wedding story. We are so excited to welcome your loved ones to the Armoury tomorrow and watch you begin this next chapter as husband and wife.
