We are Onkwehon:we of Oneida Nation of the Thames. We are twin sisters that have taught ourselves traditional beading with a modern twist. Over the past few years we have been creating projects and now want to share with everyone else. As any traditional beader knows - beading is a spiritual practice and takes time. Beading takes time as we have to be with good mind. We can not
be sad, angry, or upset. We do not want to work our negative emotion into the piece which than is given to you. We almost never forget, we intentionally or by mistake must include a spirit bead. A spirit bead is a reminder that nothing created by human hands can be perfect. This honours the great spirit and expresses humility. If there is an item on our page please feel free to reach out as we do take custom orders. Custom orders can take longer than normal so please be patient. At times we will make ribbons, poppies, and other fundraising items. Labelled pieces will have a portion that we will donate proceeds.
