Produced by David Cyrus MacDonald, David Weale (Author/Storyteller) and Colin Buchanan (Musician/Producer) collaborate to marry stories, song, and film at The Guild from July 6 - August 26. Told through mixed media performance including storytelling, music, acting, film, and animation, STORY takes the audience on a journey through generations to discover how storytelling is all around us. as a form of entertainment, a way of comforting tragedy, the passing on of knowledge, a device to make sense of the mystical, or storytelling without words at all. The show will run 24 times at The Guild in Charlottetown throughout the summer of 2014.

STORY wrapped up last night with another sold out show. What a summer it has been. We couldn't have done it without the hard work and support of many people. A huge thank you to everyone who was involved, including the many Islanders and visitors who attended the show. This has been an incredible and formative experience for myself, and I am sad to see it come to an end. STORY has left me wanting more and I hope you feel the same way. Congratulations to everyone involved and thank you for making Confederation Entertainment Inc.'s first ever production a hit!

Producer of STORY and CEO of Confederation Entertainment Inc. David Cyrus MacDonald knew something magical would take place if Island author/storyteller David Weale and musician/producer Colin Buchanan joined forces to write a storytelling show. “What Colin and David came up with was far more ambitious and exciting than what I originally had in mind,” says MacDonald. The show received funding from PEI 2014, and before his eyes, STORY began to come to life.

With his musical background (being the drummer of Belfast indie-rock band Paper Lions), and diverse entertainment experience, MacDonald, along with Buchanan and Weale assembled a remarkable cast, crew, and staff that took the show from script to art.
“This show is truly unique and special. I can’t believe how lucky I am to be able to produce a show that celebrates PEI places, characters, and stories without trivializing them. It feels genuine to me as an Islander.”
