Classic of the Month for June: The Tall Guy (1989)

Before he was sexy, charming mathematician Ian Malcolm, Jeff Goldblum starred as the sexy, charming Dexter King in this offbeat British romantic comedy. Add Rowan Atkinson a young Emma Thompson in one of her first major film roles and you have this endearing film.

A few fun facts:
⭐The Tall Guy was directed by Mel Smith, best known in the UK as one half of the legendary comedy duo Smith & Jones.
⭐This was the first feature script by Richard Curtis. He had been a writer on Blackadder and would later write Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, Love Actually, and About Time. Not a bad resume!
⭐Emma Thompson's performance here helped launch her film career.
