Secrets of Charlottetown Walking Tour Guide Position:
Love history? Enjoy storytelling? Have a flair for the dramatic? Then you’re in luck! Secrets of Charlottetown Walking Tours is hiring!
The ideal tour guide: Secrets of Charlottetown is looking for an enthusiastic, well-spoken, and friendly storytelling guide who can lead guests along the historic streets of downtown Charlottetown, for the daytime Secrets tour and evening ghost tour.
The tours: The tours run Tuesdays through Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and 8 pm. All tours are one hour. Group sizes between 2 and 30.
The job: This seasonal part-time contract freelance position runs May through October,
(Please note: Hours may vary, depending on booking numbers and other seasonal considerations. Bookings can be made anywhere from several months in advance to the day of the tour, so flexible availability is a must.)
Compensation: $16 per tour, plus cash tips
Requirements:
3 – 5+ years experience in customer service/tourism industry
physically able to walk/stand for duration of each tour,
distance of approx. 1 mile
skilled in public speaking AND/OR background in acting
period-appropriate outfit [a long skirt/blouse + hat for women;
white dress shirt/dress pants + hat for men] (Outfit not provided)
Must have reliable transportation, or live within walking distance of downtown
