Ceilidh In The City Come enjoy a weekly showcase of the music of P.E.I. with local musicians presenting a wide selection of toe tapping musical styles, stories and laughter.

Today on behalf of all of the wonderful folks who support our shows and the Ceilidh Gives Back Fund we donated $2850 back to our community.
- $1000 to the Upper Room Hospitality Ministry through the Stuff the Bus campaign
- $1000 to the Queen’s County Music Festival in memory of our long time band member Heartz Godkin to foster young musicians
- $600 to the Kits of Kindness Program which makes sure kids go home with the basics when the leave school.
- $250 to Prince Street School Breakfast Program

Ceilidh goes Country... With another Hoedown on September 9th

Pack up your cowboy boots, hats and bolo ties and head on over to the Ceilidh In The City for a night filled with Classic Country Music on Wednesday September 9th, with special guests Jacinta MacDonald and George Brothers. MacDonald has performed across PEI for many years in bands, duos and as a solo guest and has been a regular guest annually at the Ceilidh. Jacinta has a powerful, clear voice that can sing any genre of music, with a definite flair for country music, especially classic country music and the songs of the late Patsy Cline which Jacinta does so well. George Brothers is a Canadian Country Music legend, with a music career that spans back to the 1970’s when he and his band George Brothers & Ol’ Blue, a band that became staples of the Atlantic Canada music circuit, headlining for five years at famous venues like Little Nashville and The Matador in Halifax as well as touring across Canada. The band achieved national chart success with two singles in 1978 and 1979. They earned high-profile nominations for "Best New Country Act" at both the CCMA Big Country Awards and the RPM Music Awards in 1978. He was ultimately inducted into the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame. Brothers and MacDonald will be joining the weekly hosts of the Ceilidh Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Brian Knox, Brian Langille and Brian Blacquiere at the Jack Blanchard Centre, which is Centrally located at 7 Pond Street, Charlottetown. The show will get underway at 7:30, with the doors opening at 6:30 for general admission. There is a bar service available as well as a 50/50 draw which supports various local charities and families in need. Ceilidh in the City kickstarts Fall Season with Country Hoedown on September 2nd.

The Ceilidh in the City is kicking off the start of their shoulder season on Wednesday, September 2nd with an Island Country Hoedown. To kick of the fall season, Ceilidh organizers are bringing down 3 of the top Country Music performers from Western PEI, Marcella Richard & Ricky & Sandra Jones. Marcella has been a longtime fan favorite at the Ceilidh, with an incredible voice, lovely stage presence and expansive song repertoire. Joining Marcella is the country couple Ricky & Sandra Jones. Sandra and Ricky, the husband-and-wife duo from western P.E.I., have been singing for over 20 years.They’ve each recorded albums as well as one together in Nashville, Tenn. This duo loves performing and they draw large crowds wherever they perform classic country music. Marcella, Ricky & Sandra will be joining the weekly hosts of the Ceilidh, Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Brian Langille, Brian Knox & Brian Blacquiere for what promises to be an incredible show & night of music. The show will take place at the Jack Blanchard Centre, centrally located at 7 Pond Street in Charlottetown. Door will open at 6:30 with a 7:30 showtime, admission is $15.00/per person (cash only). The summer may be winding down but the Ceilidh in the City is winding up for their shoulder season. The August 26th Ceilidh in bound to have you dancing in your seats when special guests We3 make their first trip to the Ceilidh Stage. We3 is a Prince Edward Island trio known for rich harmonies and a warm, nostalgic sound. Featuring Todd Gallant, Chris Arsenault, and Ian Hunter, the band delivers engaging live performances with classic rock and folk favorites that connect easily with audiences. The group specializes in playing the biggest hits from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, providing a nostalgic, atmosphere. We3 will be joining the weekly hosts of the Ceilidh - Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Brian Knox, Brian Langille & Brian Blacquiere. Old Home Week Kitchen Party with Billy MacInnis at August 19th Ceilidh In The City

The Jack Blanchard Centre will be bursting at the seams with music on August 19th as the Ceilidh In The City presents Canadian Fiddling Sensation Billy MacInnis as special musical guest. MacInnis who's roots run deep in PEI is a highly celebrated Fiddler. MacInnis is an acclaimed, third-generation Canadian fiddler and guitarist originally from Prince Edward Island. He is widely recognized across Canada as the long-time official fiddle player for the legendary country-folk icon Stompin' Tom Connors, touring with him for over nine years. MacInnis shared stages with renowned Canadian musicians like Rita MacNeil, Lennie Gallant, Prairie Oyster, and John Allan Cameron. Billy is a versatile fiddler who can play traditional east coast & maritime style fiddle tunes or the Ottawa River Valley style of playing with ease. MacInnis will be joining the weekly hosts of the Ceilidh In The City Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Brian Knox, Brian Langille and Brian Blacquiere in the air conditioned comfort of the Jack Blanchard Centre, located at 7 Pond Street, Charlottetown. Ceilidh in the City to Take a Musical Trip Down Memory Lane During Annual Old Home Week Rock 'N' Roll Ceilidh

The sounds of classic rock 'n' roll will fill the Jack Blanchard Centre on Wednesday, August 12, as Ceilidh in the City celebrates Old Home Week with one of its most anticipated shows of the season. Show organizers are thrilled to welcome five former members of the legendary Island band, The Blue Crystals, for a special evening that will bring audiences back to the golden days of PEI's dance halls and community concerts. For generations of Islanders, The Blue Crystals have been synonymous with great music and unforgettable memories. Formed in the mid-1960s by the late drummer Ronnie MacLean, the band became one of Prince Edward Island's most beloved musical groups, entertaining audiences across the province for decades. This year's Rock N Roll Ceilidh will feature David Altass (vocals and guitar), Ian Hunter (vocals and bass), Gary Cudmore (keyboards and saxophone), Paul Chandler (keyboards), and Blaine Murphy (lead guitar). Together, they'll perform many of the timeless hits that made The Blue Crystals a household name and helped define an era of Island music.
Joining them on stage will be the hosts of Ceilidh in the City—Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Brian Knox, Brian Blacquiere, and Brian Langille—for an evening filled with classic rock 'n' roll, stories, laughter, and plenty of Old Home Week spirit.
The show takes place in the air-conditioned Jack Blanchard Centre, located at 7 Pond Street in Charlottetown. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with showtime at 7:30 p.m. There will be a bar service available, along with the weekly 50/50 draw in support of local charities.
