🎉 Congratulations to Fabio Kutnowski! 🎉

The Etobicoke Philharmonic Orchestra is proud to congratulate Fabio Kutnowski, a member of our Student Scholarship Program, on being named the 2026 recipient of the prestigious Mary Alice Stuart Scholarship from JAZZ.FM91.

Presented annually in honour of JAZZ.FM91 founding chair Mary Alice Stuart, the scholarship recognizes exceptional emerging jazz musicians studying at Toronto's post-secondary jazz programs.

A versatile bassist from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Fabio is completing his studies at Humber Polytechnic and has built an impressive career performing everything from classical music to jazz, funk, Latin styles, and more.

Fabio also has a strong commitment to community service. Alongside his fellow EPO Scholarship recipients Gwynne Daynard (violin), Nieva Cunningham (cello), and Vishwa Theivendirarajah (violin), he has performed outreach concerts at Humbervale Retirement Home, Sherway Gardens, and Councillor Amber Morley's FallFest, bringing the joy of live music to audiences throughout the community.

Congratulations, Fabio, on this well-deserved honour! We look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in the years ahead. 👏🎶

🎻 Applications are NOW OPEN for the 2026–27 EPO Nagao Bursary! 🎶

The Etobicoke Philharmonic Orchestra is proud to support the next generation of musicians by offering one bursary of up to $3,000 to a talented young instrumentalist entering their first year of a post-secondary music performance program in the GTA.

If you're performing at RCM Grade 8 or above and are passionate about pursuing a career in music, we encourage you to apply!

🎶 Community Outreach Concert at Humbervale Place Retirement Residence 🎶

On June 19, 2026, members of the Etobicoke Philharmonic Orchestra brought an evening of beautiful music to residents of Humbervale Place Retirement Residence.

From 7:00–8:00 PM, Gwynne Daynard (vocals & violin), Nieva Cunningham (cello), and Fabio Kkutnowski (bass & guitar) delighted an audience of approximately 30 residents. Many attendees were already familiar with the EPO and have enjoyed attending our concerts over the years.

A special highlight of the evening was the performance of a composition by a respected professor who had the unique distinction of teaching all three musicians. The performers were honoured to bring his music to life, and the audience warmly embraced the connection between teacher, students, and the enduring power of music.

Thank you to Humbervale Place Retirement Residence for welcoming us and helping us share the joy of live music in our community.

We LOVE newcomers! This season we gave away 30 tickets to nearly every concert via the Canoo app, hosted by the Institute for Canadian Citizenship. We're delighted to join other groups helping to accelerate the journey from arrival to belonging.

Tomorrow, Toronto celebrates our rich diversity with Newcomer Day: cultural performances, a food fair, marketplace and more than 100 information booths to learn about services for newcomers.
