The puppets are on the move… 🌿🎭✨
For six years now, Revel Music Festival has been a place where my heart remembers itself

riverside mornings, barefoot wanderings, music drifting through the trees, children laughing, art unfolding everywhere you turn.

A place where people gather not to escape life, but to celebrate being alive.

This season, Puppets on the Move travels through the Kootenays — carrying stories, wonder, strange little beings and moments of magic between breaths.

First we gather at Prevel on May 31, then Revel returns in August with its wild beauty, music, community and dreamlike offerings.

I’ll be sharing puppet performances woven from imagination, play, movement and the tender mystery of being human. 💫

Deep Puppetry™ Studio Practice

A 4-week online studio exploring relational puppetry, unfinished encounter, and object improvisation through simple materials, movement, and guided interaction.

Together we’ll explore:
• contact before coherence
• figures as unstable relational presences
• awkwardness, tenderness, and animation
• projection and otherness
• movement and language before they fully settle

The studio unfolds through short relational scores, repetition, interruption, and return.

Open to puppeteers, performers, artists, facilitators, and curious humans.

No puppetry experience required.

We had such a blast 💥 at Kaslo May Days!
One of our favorite highlights:
I asked a participant to “spin” for the wheel… and instead, he started spinning himself with his cape flying behind him! 🦸✨ It was such a perfect moment and everyone burst out laughing 😂

What a beautiful weekend at the Castlegar Spring Fling 💛

I’m still smiling thinking about all the little faces gathered around the puppets — watching, participating, imagining, laughing, and bravely sharing their ideas. The enthusiasm and creativity from the kids (and grownups too!) was such a gift. I only wish I had taken more photos to capture all the magic.

Thank you to Spring Fling Castlegar for inviting me and for supporting local art, play, and community connection. It means so much to be able to share my work in my own community.
I’m so grateful to everyone who stopped by to play with the puppets, tell stories, move, create, and connect. You reminded me why this work matters.

I’m behind Puppets on the Move — an embodied teacher, facilitator, and performer — and together with Nikkicole we run Movewithnikki: a holistic fitness and arts mobile service focused on creativity, movement, wellness, and community.

We travel together bringing interactive puppet shows, improv storytelling, and creative play to life for all ages.
With years of ensemble theatre experience and intensive training in puppet theatre at Sandglass Theater, I weave together imagination, movement, and connection in every performance.
