At YolOne Art Group, we’re always looking for ways to support work while it’s still becoming.

There’s something new moving through our studio, The Booster this week.
Alongside our regular classes, we’re opening the space to a residency process — something raw, in-progress, and only shared for one night.

✨ OPEN CALL: YolOne Art Group is proud to support The Booster's The Booster Artist Incubator Residency, now accepting applications for Spring and Summer 2026.

The Booster is inviting movement artists, choreographers, and photographers to apply for a 1-week incubator residency in our downtown Nelson studio.

This residency is designed to support creative research, experimentation, and artistic development, offering dedicated studio time, mentorship, and the opportunity to share your work with the community.

Spring Residency: April 13–19, 2026
Application deadline: April 3, 2026

Summer Residency: June 22–28, 2026
Application deadline: May 9, 2026

Residency Value: $1,200 CAD
Subsidized Artist Fee: $400 CAD
(Successful candidates pay this subsidized fee, with the remaining value supported through The Booster Incubator Program, that is sponsored by the YolOne Art Group)

Includes:
• 18 hours of studio access
• mentorship and creative support
• public showcase opportunity
• documentation photos
• access to studio equipment

This is a space to explore new ideas, deepen your practice, and connect with Nelson’s creative community.

After many long hours of dreaming, planning, designing, and building, we’re so excited to finally share our new YolOne Art Group website 💛

This step feels big for us — not just because of the design, but because it reflects who we’re becoming and who we’re opening our doors to. Our focus on development, growth, and renewal is woven into every part of this update.

We are so fortunate that our team has a great website designer Lia Kajari who can turn our dreams into reality.

What if your body got an evening to exhale?

The Big Let Go is what the body does when it’s finally allowed to stop holding everything together.​

Your shoulders remember how to drop,
your jaw unclenches,
and the breath you didn’t know you were holding
suddenly has space to move again.

This class is that moment in motion: a pre-holiday, adult-only dance gathering where your spine can unkink from “to‑do list mode” and your feet get to follow curiosity instead of obligation.​

Expect guided contemporary movement, playful prompts, and an improv jam that lets all your “too much” and “not enough” shake out through the muscles instead of staying stuck in the mind. No performance, no perfection — just a room full of real humans, moving like bodies that are tired of pretending to be machines.​
