These are hands-on, educational sessions where you’ll create your own traditional Indigenous medicine bag while learning about its history, cultural meaning, and significance. It’s a respectful and welcoming space to ask questions and reflect on topics like truth and reconciliation and Indigenous cultural teachings and more. Register soon, spots are limited!

Join us again this year for our Truth and Reconciliation Ceremony. We will also be having an unveiling ceremony for the permanent land acknowledgment at the Diefenbunker. We will have the Spirit Wolf Singers drum group as well as a couple of special guests with us. We are anticipating close to 1,000 people this year as our ceremony continues to grow. #613

Our team recently participated in an Indigenous Cultural Awareness Session hosted by Marc Forgette - Makatew Workshops at our job site at 665 Albert St.

This meaningful experience deepened our understanding and commitment to fostering respect, inclusion and collaboration with Indigenous communities.

Wow, what a privilege! Makatew Workshops was honoured to have had hosted 2 workshops this past week for delegates from across Turtle Island and was tasked with organizing the Grand Entry and Closing Ceremony at the International Indigenous Tourism Conference that was hosted at the Ottawa Shaw Centre and included over 1,000 delegates from 10 different countries and lastly, we also created this years Indigenous awards for 9 deserving winners! I could not be any prouder of our accomplishments this week. Chi-Miigwetch to everyone involved in making this conference one of the best!

hosted Carp’s inaugural ceremony with many in attendance. We had all levels of government in attendance including Liberal Minister .sudds, Liberal MP .mccrimmon and Ottawa City Councillor . We were blessed with a beautiful day from Creator. donated a new legacy bench for the community to enjoy and use. #613
