Campbell River's premiere dance school, promoting confidence, creativity, discipline, belonging, in a safe, healthy environment. If you ask - we will dance!

Our mission is to equip our students to excel at dance and to succeed in life! We offer a comprehensive curriculum that includes instruction in tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, lyrical and musical theatre. Classes are available to all - 3 years and older. We offer 8 week recreational classes for our youngest dancers. As well as full year recreational programs, and full year competitive programs. Our re

creational programs are designed to provide beginner, intermediate and experienced dancers the ability to learn and love dance in a fun, supportive environment. Dancers have the opportunity to perform for family and friends at the year end recital. Our competitive programs offer the fun and instruction of regular classes, with the added excitement of competition. Dancers have the opportunity to travel throughout BC, Canada and the United States to showcase their routines in both and large venues. Our dancers are also routinely invited to dance at local community events, festivals and galas.

What an incredible way to wrap up the summer! ☀️

Some of our CRX faculty travelled to the Kootenays to join our sister studio, Kootenay DanceXtreme, as guest teachers at their summer dance camp. Shawna, Buddy, Sam and Emma, we hope you had the best time inspiring and dancing with KDX’s incredible dancers before the new season begins!

A special thank you to our amazing assistants, Makena and Katalina, for travelling with our teachers and helping out in their classes. 💕 And a huge thank you to KDX for welcoming our teachers and giving them the opportunity to be part of such a fabulous experience!

✨ Tiny dancers, BIG dreams! ✨

There’s something so special about watching our young ones discover dance for the very first time: their little smiles, their growing confidence, the friendships they make and the joy they feel when they realize, “I can do this!" Our 3-5 year old classes are more than just learning steps. They’re about creating a safe, nurturing space where little ones can be themselves, build confidence, express their creativity and fall in love with movement.

And guiding them through those precious first years is Miss Felicia, who brings 20 years of experience teaching this age group. Her patience, understanding, and genuine love for young dancers make each class a place where children feel seen, encouraged and celebrated. These early years are so important, and we would be honoured to be part of your little one’s dance journey!!

New York City did not disappoint!! 🗽🍎

Several of our CRX and sister studio KDX teaching staff attended three full days of dance teacher training at the DanceOne Summit this past weekend! And because they simply can’t get enough of dancing, they also took extra classes on their own at Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway and Brickhouse.

Not only did they dance their hearts out, but they also watched Broadway shows, explored NYC, bonded as a team, and watched incredibly talented dancers perform at the annual A.C.E. Awards. We are so grateful to have such a passionate and dedicated faculty! ❤️

The DanceOne Summit gives teachers the opportunity to take dance classes over three days, with each class designed to help them stay up to date on safe dance practices, expand their knowledge, and learn new skills to bring into the upcoming dance season. With six different classes happening every hour, there was truly something for everyone to learn and grow from! Classes covered a wide variety of dance styles and were tailored to teachers working with different ages and skill levels.

What an unforgettable trip! ✨ A huge thank you to Shawna and Buddy for continually inspiring our teaching staff, supporting their professional development, and encouraging them to stay connected to the ever-evolving dance industry while nurturing their own love of dance.

There’s still space in our August summer dance camp if you’re looking for another activity to sign the kids up for! We are so excited to be offering this camp to children aged 4-6 this summer. This year’s theme is “In Your Animal Era,” and each day we will focus on a different animal. Come dance with us and enjoy a morning filled with creative movement, hip hop, acro dance, crafts, games and more!!

✔️ Wear close-fitting activewear (no jeans or dresses)
✔️ Hair must be tied back — ponytail, braids, or bun

Today we celebrate this incredible woman who has created so much more than just a dance studio. You’ve built a place where dreams grow, confidence shines, friendships flourish, and every dancer feels at home.

Thank you for believing in us, inspiring us, cheering us on and reminding us that dance is about so much more than the steps. Your passion, kindness and dedication have touched every dancer who walks through these doors, and we are so grateful to be part of the family you’ve created. We hope this year brings you as much joy, love and happiness as you bring to all of us every single day.

Due to popular demand, we've expanded our Competitive Recreation Fresh Groove program from two teams to THREE!! Registration has just reopened for Fresh Groove, and there's still space on the level one (ages 7-10) and level two (ages 11-14) Fresh Groove teams.

Fresh Groove is our award-winning hip hop team for dancers aged 7 years and up. Fresh Groove members receive 4 hours of hip hop instruction weekly in various styles of hip hop. Dancers will perform and compete one or more routines at a minimum of 3 different competitions on the island and an additional routine at the year-end recital.

Here's how to secure your spot:

1. Head to: https://app.gostudiopro.com/online/crdancextreme

2. On the "Pick Classes" page, choose the tab COMPETITIVE TEAM 2026-2027: Select Fresh Groove Students.

3. Pay the $50 registration fee, and you're officially registered. (Handbook and Schedule will be available on your Parent Portal)

Once you are registered, head to your APP store and download the Studio Pro Portal. This will give you all the information you need about the studio, at your fingertips - personalized fees, payments, videos, newsletters and more.

Thank you to those who donated new, unused school supplies while attending our 2026 recital performances this year! We had an outstanding amount donated, and we could not be happier. Not only did we fill TWO wagons with new school supplies, but we also raised $614.50 in cash donations!! Thank you for your contribution and for helping us honour Darlene Sloan; we couldn’t do this without you. ❤️ All items and money will be delivered to the School Board to be divided, as they see fit.

We often speak of Darlene Sloan, our studio mom and past manager, who passed away in September 2018. We fondly remember her commitment to our studio as well as her dedication to the Campbell River School Board. We honour Darlene’s memory at our year-end performances by accepting donations of new, unused school supplies for students in need for the upcoming school year.
