🎶 Open Stage Jam & Rising Stars Showcase 🎶

Join us Sunday, June 14 for a special edition of our Open Stage at Wave Maker Craft Brewery!

🎸 1:00–4:00 PM – Open Stage Jam Session
Whether you prefer to perform solo or team up with other musicians, this Open Stage is for you! We're encouraging performers who have met through Wave Maker's Open Stage to connect, collaborate, and jam together, but solo performances are just as welcome. Come share a few songs, try something new, and enjoy an afternoon of live music.

🌟 4:00–5:00 PM – Rising Stars Showcase (Ages 12–17)
Young performers are invited to sign up and perform 1–3 songs in a welcoming, supportive environment. It's a great opportunity to build confidence, gain stage experience, and perform in front of a friendly crowd. Family and friends are encouraged to come cheer them on!

Play an instrument, sing solo, or bring a backing track - whatever helps you shine. This showcase is all about encouraging young performers and helping them gain confidence on stage.

🍴 Food Pop-Up by Kojo's Corner by House of Davis
Come hungry! Enjoy a delicious menu featuring:
• Wangs (wings) & hand-cut fries
• Suya wraps & kabobs
• Mac 'n Cheese
• Jollof Rice
• And more!

Do you know a talented teen (12-17) who wants a chance to perform on stage? We want to put on a special hour of teen performers during our next regular open stage on Sunday June 14th, so if you know a teen who can sing, get them in touch with us!

Performers usually back themselves with their own instrument through our sound system, and any teen performer is free to do that too, if they want. But for this special event, if they have backing tracks instead, that can be shared so we can get them on my laptop to perform to karaoke style, we will make that work for them. It is also fine if people want to appear as a duo.

We will be extending our usual open stage hours to 5 pm to make room for this, and there will also be a food Pop-Up by Kojo's Corner by House of Davis during the show too, so we hope to get a great turnout from all our regular performers and listeners, as well as hearing from some new rising talent!

We're back this Sunday! Glad to hear things went great on the 17th, too! The theme this time is songs about water or earth in some way, (The earth, or it could be dirt... I dunno, use your imagination! Get elemental!)

May 3rd's open stage was another good show, with some folks who were new to us, and some good turns by returning folks! Big thanks to Nicole, Rob, Dawn and Doug (performing separately and as Little & Bass) and Rebecca for delivering the goods, and to Wave Maker for hosting, as always!

Dawn and Doug will be hosting the next open stage for me on May 17th as Little & Bass! Their optional theme is songs from 2000-2009, if you feel like playing along. Otherwise, come and do whatever it is you do do! I'll be back for the May 31st one (- Colin)

Here's the video reel from Sunday, now I have my editor sorted, plus a photo of Pete, the one act I didn't get video of. Sorry for that, and for the jerky video in Julie's section, as I tried to film with one hand and mix sound with the other, LOL. Thanks to Nicole, too, for the clips of me, I'm not usually in these reels!

Turnout was the best yet on Apr 19th for the 80's themed open stage. We had a great variety of acts, including some that hadn't been there before, and some that hadn't been back in a while. I really appreciated my sister Nicole coming to help me set up this week! Here are some pics.I'm really sorry, but my video software has decided to stop launching, so I could not edit a video reel from this week's show, though I did get clips of most of the acts. Maybe later.
