Firstly, I would like to thank you for visiting my page:)
I am from Ireland but have been living in Alberta, Canada for the past 2 years, now just based outside of Calgary. Metal art has always been a passion I wanted to pursue and now I am finally doing so. I re-purpose old materials and scrap metals to make my pieces. I get my inspiration from a few different things, the nature around me with t
he wildlife and Rocky mountains there is always something to see here that’s very different from back home. I also try and incorporate some Celtic designs into my work as that has always been something that interested me growing up. I’m sure my ideas will expand as I gain more experience in the coming years :)
Each piece I make is made and finished with care and attention. I like to use a raw rustic finish which is why many of my pieces are left grinded to give of the bright silver shine, as well as using a patina finish which gives its own unique colour patterns. That is why no two pieces, while of the same design can ever be finished to look exactly alike. The patina takes to the metal differently each time and that is why you see sometimes dark spots of rust, sometimes light and sometimes no rust at all. This effect gives body and a uniqueness to the finished piece. In order to preserve the finish I do use a protective clear coat paint. If you would like your piece unpainted in order for it to naturally continue reacting to the elements that is no problem, just mail me to discuss. Having taken the time and care to finish each piece, I want to ensure they arrive to you safely and in the same condition they left me – so each piece will be securely wrapped and labelled to handle with care. I am also happy to do custom designs that you have in mind. If you would like, you can add me on my social media sites linked below. Thanks,
Ryan.
