W & M PHYSICAL THEATRE W&M PHYSICAL THEATRE was founded in Poland in 1994. From diverse cultural backgrounds, Monteros and The feeling is what drives our work.

We try to raise questions and bring attention to the human condition; to create layers in images that stimulate thought. We are interested in finding a connection between how we live and respond as humans and the political and social currents that surface in our environment. The artistic vision is hopefully evolving, maturing, deepening. All of this is informed by our experiences from Poland and from Finland and influenced by European theatrical forms.

W&M Dance Projects invites filmmakers, choreographers, dancers, visual artists, and interdisciplinary creators to be part of the 7th Annual WiLDDOGS International Screendance Festival. Join an international celebration of dance on screen that brings together visionary artists and adventurous audiences from around the world.
The festival takes place September 5–6, 2026, in a unique hybrid format—streaming worldwide online and presented live at Contemporary Calgary in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

W&M Physical Theatre is hosting a Casino Night fundraiser on July 2 and 3, 2026, at the ELBOW RIVER CASINO and we'd love, appreciate, and need your help making it a success!
This casino marks a meaningful moment for us — we're wrapping up a rich and wild season that included performances of One967: Series 1, a performance of When Language Fails at the incomparable Fluid Festival, a two-week residency at Contemporary Calgary featuring performances by our WM2 Dance Company, our AIR artists, and guest artist Davida Monk, as well as the 6th annual WildDogs International Screendance Festival.
And we're launching straight into our new season, with the 7th WildDogs International Screendance Festival coming up in September 2026.
Whether you've volunteered with us before or this would be your first time, we welcome you. Casino fundraisers like this one are a vital source of income for the company — they help us keep making the work we love and paying the artists who make it with us.

AiR - ARTIST IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM
Launched as The Calgary Rehearsal Cooperative in 2008, the Artist in Residence Program been annually re-evaluated, reshaped and expanded to respond to the current needs of our growing dancecommunity. The Artists in Residence program is an initiative by W&M Dance Projects designed to support independent artists in their work.

”My mom has always loved polka-dot flamenco dresses. My dad has always loved dancing the polka.”
Flamenco meets polka in this multi-coloured solo in collaboration with bata de cola and farolillos, aka long flamenco dress (one) and paper patio lanterns from the annual Sevilla spring fair (many). POLKA(dots) is a commentary on the act of celebrating, where dances and stories for polka-dots and polkas set the stage for play. It was created and developed with the support of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Studio Pleamar (Montréal) Artist in Residence Program, Dancers’ Dancers' Studio West, Alberta Dance Festival and W&M Dance W&M DANCE Projects Resident Artist Program. POLKA(dots) was touring to London, Vienna and Berlin in the summer of 2017.

States of Consciousness explores one’s habitual cyclic thoughts by investigating conformity, perception, and identity.
This work is currently in its preliminary research phase with plans to expand and present the final product as an evening-length work in November 2017.
Ms. Michalsky would like to thank W&M for creating opportunities in Calgary for artists such as herself. This current excerpt and her
future plan for the work would not exist without the support of W&M’s Artist in Residency program. Ms. Michalsky would also like tothank Brenna Heer, dancer and collaborator, for her dedication and hard work during this phase.

Thinking about submitting to Wilddogs? A few things worth knowing.
-You don't need a big budget. Some of the most striking screendance work is made with one camera, one dancer, and a strong idea.
-You don't need to be a filmmaker and a choreographer. But you do need to be in genuine conversation with both disciplines.
-You don't even need to call it screendance.
If it moves, it's cinematic, and it's yours — we'll find the right words together.

We’re bringing back one of our favourite content series — WiLDDOGS Screendance History & Origins.

The original series was researched and created by .man.tings — Calgary creative, House dancer and teacher, W&M dancer, WiLDDOGS Associate Artist, and an emerging filmmaker establishing his own voice in the screendance world.

We’re refreshing and expanding it for 2026 — new pioneers, new carousels, same deep curiosity about where this form comes from and who built it.
