We just launched a Kickstarter for our new documentary project The Loose Moose Theatre; Fifty Years of Failure about the storied Calgary based improv theatre that influenced improv world wide. We need your help in producing the film. 'drop' the movie was filmed in Calgary with an all Calgary cast and crew. drop has received 7 best feature narrative awards, a best up and coming filmmaker award and has been nominated for two AMPIA awards, best director and best editing.

While grappling with an unknown future, an aging dancer struggles to find redemption by rescuing a troubled young man from a life of crime.

Clip (Christopher Clare) is a contemporary dancer whose career seems over when his criminal past comes back to haunt him in the form of a young man, Stephan (Shemar Herbert), who is seemingly on the run from cops and criminals alike. With the goons closing in, it seems like there may be no way out for Stephan. And though he is reluctant, Clip is nonetheless determined to help Stephan escape even if it means going back to his old ways.

If you’re looking for a run-of-the-mill crime flick, you’ve come to the wrong place. Calgary filmmaker Ramin Eshraghi-Yazdi has a distinct vision for his first feature, and that approach places just as much emphasis on the dance scenes as the chase sequences. With Drop, he engages and challenges the audience with an original take on the crime drama and announces himself as a rising talent.
