The downtown free fare zone a 2.5 km stretch that allows riders to hop on and off transit throughout the core at no cost. It has been a staple of Calgary since 1981 and after 45 years, it is now being considered for removal. According to a recent report, 85% of downtown businesses believe eliminating the free fare zone would have a significantly negative impact on their operations, raising concerns about accessibility and foot traffic in the downtown area.

Big plans for west Calgary 🏗️ A massive 69000 sq ft rec centre and library is proposed for West District at Broadcast Ave SW and 80 St SW across from Radio Park. Think pools gyms studios plus a full library space. If approved it could serve over 41000 households. Would you use it?
