Look how happy these CORE choir members are!

Did you know that singing for an hour can trigger a significant reduction in stress hormones, and boost the body's ability to fight serious illness?(1)

Just listening to music can enhance your mood, reduce pain, help improve memory, and light up your brain activity. (2) So attending the CORE concerts Is a definite health benefit. 😁

If you can read music and love to sing, why not consider joining the CORE this year? Not only will you make new friends, studies show that making music causes exponentially more brain activity than just listening. The way it lights up your overall brain activity is almost like fireworks exploding. (3)

Happy New Year! Here is our second gift to you in this giving season. Today we are highlighting “Narrow Road Home” in High River. The founder, Kimberley Courtney, was one of our dynamic guest speakers earlier this year.

Through generous community support and advocacy, this program has supported thousands of women caught in addiction, domestic violence, self-harm, su***de, mental illness and life crises. Besides a residential component, the organization has launched programs like “two scoops of love,” a self-supported ice cream truck, the Narrow Road Creperie, the popular Noble Tea House, and Courtney’s Closet Pre-Owned Fashions. These extensions all contributed to serve the organization’s mission of supporting women through a rigorous process of healing and transformation.

In this season of giving, we want to give back to YOU, our supporters and friends! Over the next few days we’ll revisit some of the excellent speakers and agencies we have highlighted in the past year and post links to their talks. When choosing which charitable agencies to support, why not consider one of these worthy agencies.

Our first post is about Woods Homes.
Our guest speaker on Nov. 23 was Bryan Goehringer, their Director of Philanthropy and Community. He shares the moving history of Woods Homes, including its Christian roots in the faith of the founder: a Presbyterian pastor who simply chose to say “Yes!” to God by rescuing and caring for homeless children. Their programs and services now address homelessness, su***de prevention, mental health treatment, youth mentorship, and faith-based education. Watch this amazing true story, and think of all the good that can happen when we each say “Yes!” to God in our own area of influence.
