The Indie YYC Speak Up!

Mental Wellness Monday

On the first day of Men’s Mental Wellness Month, we present a celebrated Poet in the worlds of The Indie YYC Creative.

She dominates in the topics of all things mental wellness and mental illness.

That is why we dedicated a day for her, prolific as she is, to showcase her brilliance and contributions, almost weekly.

Almost 52 times per year, NM Dunseith shows up on Mental Wellness Monday, with a Voem, some reading, and some reflection.

I am so grateful for her.

As for speaking to that gratitude, showing it, speaking it, receiving it, and returning it…

That will aid in your Mental Wellness.

All of that being said, this is NM Dunseith on The Indie YYC Mental Wellness Monday with her new Voem:

The Indie YYC Spark...

What does it mean to believe in a creative community – and then help build it from the inside out? In this segment, Wakefield Brewster aka da lyrical pitbull reflects on his journey with The Indie YYC and how a single opportunity opened the door to something much bigger.

From stepping into curation for the first time to creating real-world stages across Calgary, this conversation shows how platforms like The Indie YYC – and the connections through Spark Infinity – can spark entirely new creative paths.

The Indie YYC ARTiculate…

If you want to be seen, you must play to the algorithm. How much do you tie your art to current events and trends? Does it matter to you?

The Indie YYC ARTiculate…

Sometimes it feels like a struggle just to get started. But what is stopping you from creating? Is it fear, or what others might think, or imposter syndrome? Something else? Wouldn't all these be representations of evil winning?

The Indie YYC Spark...

We are thrilled to launch The Indie YYC Spark, a brand-new initiative and series designed to highlight the creative conversations that move us. In our debut clip, our very own Wakefield Brewster aka da lyrical pitbull, shares the surprising power of isolation and how a world at a standstill allowed his artistry to flourish.

This candid look at the intersection of social anxiety and production is part of our shared mission with Spark Infinity to support independent creativity. Join us as we explore how the most challenging times can lead to the greatest moments of artistic clarity and transformation.
