If you missed seeing our install last year IRL, check out this video to see our animations and installation in action! Special thanks to 🎥
Gravitation is a large-scale projection-mapped installation that took place on 1st Street SW during the month of September 2020. Gravitation combined particle-based animations along with inspiring texts reflecting life under a pandemic, to create a unique and mesmerizing visual experience that aimed to shine some light on the dark times we are all facing.
Gravitation references the natural phenomena by which any particle of matter is able to attract and repel others with varying force overtime. Particles exist both individually and collectively and are involved in an ongoing, ever-changing push/pull relationship to negotiate space and shape. The fluctuating movements within Gravitation are inspired by the ways society has adapted to deal with the challenges present during COVID-19 and the difficulties of being apart while trying to connect with loved ones and the world around us.

Hello Everyone and Happy 2021! Last year we were part of a project with Victoria Park BIA and installed one of Calgary's longest projection-mapped installation yet:

Gravitation is a large-scale projection-mapped installation that took place on 1st Street SW during the month of September 2020. Gravitation combined particle-based animations along with inspiring texts reflecting life under a pandemic, to create a unique and mesmerizing visual experience that aimed to shine some light on the dark times we are all facing.

Tonight is the LAST NIGHT to check out Gravitation on 1 ST SW between 12th and 13th Ave. Starting at 7:30pm!

Gravitation combines particle-based animations along with inspirational texts, commenting on life under a pandemic, to create a truly unique and mesmerizing experience for the Calgary public.

The installation is inspired by gravitation, a physical natural phenomena that is shared by all matter in the universe. Gravitation references the movement by which any particle of matter is able to attract and repel others with varying force over time.

If you are unfamiliar the Raspberry Pi, it is a computer that runs similar to a laptop or desktop. It has Wi-Fi, bluetooth, USB and HDMI. You plug a keyboard, mouse and monitor into it and it has an operating system and lets you do everything a normal comptuer would.

However, unlike most other computers, the Raspberry Pi is very small, very cheap, and extreamly customizable. The pins on it allow you to attach all sorts of external devices such as sensors, motors and other interface devices. Because it runs on open source software you can esentially program it to operate exactly how you want.

We have used Raspberry P*s on multiple projects and we love them.

This news today is wild because this tiny, cheap computer now comes with 8GB of Ram with an upcoming 64-Bit operating system for about $100 CAD!

Just to put this in context, the computer we paid $2500 for nine years ago had about the same specs.

A new 8GB RAM variant of Raspberry Pi 4 is available today, priced at just $75. Visit your favourite Raspberry Pi Approved Reseller to get yours.
