MAMBO
Mambo is a Cuban dance which was developed in the 1940s when the music genre of the same name became popular throughout Latin America. Originally from Cuba, it’s a popular dance adopted by Ballroom dancers and Latin countries.
CHA CHA CHA
The cha cha cha (also called cha-cha), is a dance of Cuban origin. It is danced to the music of the same name introduced by the Cuban composer and violinist Enrique Jorrin in the early 1950s. This rhythm was developed from the Danzón-Mambo.
SON MONTUNO
It is the base rhythm and step used for every Salsa style we know today. The term has been used in several ways. The 'montuno' originally referred to its origin in the mountainous regions of eastern Cuba; eventually, it was used more to describe the final up-tempo section of a son with it's repetitive vocal refrain and brash instrumental climax.
RUMBA
In Cuba, during the second half of the 19th century, several secular dance-oriented music styles were developed by Afro-Cuban workers in the poor neighbourhoods of Havana and Matanzas. These syncretic styles would later be referred to as "rumba,” a word that also means "party.”
CASINO
Also known as Salsa Cubana, is a style of salsa that originated in Cuba featuring intricate turn patterns and body isolations. Cuban style salsa is danced on the “on 1” timing similar to LA Style Salsa and NY Style Salsa both danced in a straight line, but Cuban salsa is danced in a circular fashion rather than in a slot.
