Nickel and Dime Theatre presents a Directing and Clown workshop!
This workshop, led by Jacqueline Russell, will look at how clown approaches and exercises can enhance your directing practice, as well as look at the how-to of directing clown pieces.
Participants must come with previous experience in either clown or directing, as this is not an introduction to those elements separately.

Jacqueline Russell (she/her) is a director, performer, creator, arts educator, and clown from Mohkínstsis (YYC) on Treaty Seven territory. She has taught workshops in clown, physical theatre, and creation across the country, from Comox to Montreal. As a performer and creator, she has contributed to many new works. She is particularly drawn to theatrical investigations that playfully examine gender, feminism, and disability.
Jacqueline is a graduate of the BFA program in Acting at the University of Alberta and completed her MFA in theatre at the University of Calgary where her thesis research examined the intersection of clown ways of knowing and feminist ways of thinking. Jacqueline currently teaches for the School of Creative and Performing Arts at the University of Calgary, Ambrose University, and Inside Out Theatre.
