We are so proud to celebrate Apex Acting Studios emerging talent Cash Davis and his recent bookings! 👏

Cash’s story is one of an actor who already had some wins under his belt — and still knew there was more to learn.

He came to Apex with a few bookings already on his resume. He could have coasted on that. Instead, he came looking for what was next: sharper tools, a clearer eye on his own work, and an honest read on where the gaps still were.

At Apex Studios, our showcases provide actors with the opportunity to perform in front of established industry professionals working across film and television, creating a space where talent meets real-world industry insight and connection.

Featured guests from the July showcase included Michael Walker, a Toronto-based Executive Producer, and Mike Hatton, an LA-based actor and producer known for “Green Book”. The two are currently producing the feature film “One Night in Purgatory” filming here in Calgary.

We are so proud to celebrate Apex Acting Studios emerging talent/coach Yasmin Schancer and her recent booking! 👏

Yasmin’s story is one of experience — and the pursuit of something better.

Most parents think their kid needs a demo reel before submitting to an agent.

They don’t. 🎬

Here’s EXACTLY what agents want to see from young actors:

• A professional résumé — credits, training, experience
• Professional headshots (at least 2 contrasting looks)
• A cover letter that shows you did your research
• 2 self-tapes if there’s no reel — one comedic, one dramatic

That’s it. The barrier to getting your child in front of an agent is lower than you think.

The real question is whether they have the tools to back it up when an agent says YES.

In our July Youth Intensive, students leave with polished self-tapes they can actually use in real submissions — built by working actors, for young performers who are serious about the craft.
