I've been practicing art for 25 years, and I can say with certainty โ€” there are no tools, techniques or practices that will impact your growth like your ๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ž๐ญ. โ€‰

My mindset for most of the 25 years has been "if I just get better technically, I'll finally be worthy". ๐˜š๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ฉ. I wish I could sit down with my younger self and tell her to let that go. โ€‰

I was driven by what other people thought was "good" and completely ignored what my heart told me felt ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ. I pursued a photorealistic style, and eventually became so perfectionistic and critical, I stopped making art entirely. โ€‰

If this sounds anything like you, please do yourself a favour and let go. Just ๐˜ฆ๐˜น๐˜ฑ๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ. Let your intuition be your guide. truly, ive tried. ive prioritized objectivity and critical thinking. ive put emotions to the side so i could grind and be productive. the result? โ€‰
