This March, Sage Theatre in association with us and the Calgary Gay History Project will present the world premiere of Natalie Meisner's Legislating Love. It deals with the life of Everett George Klippert, a Calgarian who admitted he was gay and had been with men. For this his life was shattered. The play honours his legacy and his court case was what helped the legalization of homos*xuality. We are waiting for him and many others to receive a formal pardon, but Mr. Klippert has just received an apology from the government "we were wrong, I apologize, I am sorry, we are sorry...for an LGBTQ "purge that lasted decades...at the hands of their own government...nothing short of a witch hunt" Watch live here:
The bill is a key element of the government's bid to make amends to people who have suffered discrimination due to their s*xual orientation or gender identity.
