We are honoured to welcome Emilio Vieira (Emilio Vieira), inaugural recipient of the Antoni Cimolino Award, to ATP! As part of the award, Emilio has chosen Alberta Theatre Projects for an Artistic Leadership Residency with Artistic Director Haysam Kadri (Haysam Kadri).

The award supports Stratford company members in expanding their artistic practice and exploring new avenues in theatre.

Having just directed Othello at Stratford and spent six seasons as a member of the company, Haysam says:

“Antoni’s legacy is deeply rooted in his belief in artists and their growth. We are honoured to be part of Emilio’s journey and excited to support him as he explores artistic leadership and expands his practice.”

Congratulations, Emilio. We are excited to welcome you to ATP and to be part of this next chapter in your artistic journey! 🙌🎉

And congratulations to Antoni Cimolino on a remarkable legacy of leadership, artistry and mentorship in Canadian theatre.
