I've been VERY busy working in my career of 47 years, so sculpting has had to take a back seat. Well, a fairly large chunk of time is going to open up allowing me the time required to get back into creating piles of wood chips and saw dust. I've accumulated a LOT of hard wood stock mostly from western Canada's fruit belt (Okanogan valley) and Vancouver Island. I have Cherry, Apple, Plum, Yew, and a few others which are anxiously awaiting to be changed from bark covered logs into something people would feel proud to walk with. I'm looking forward to having the freedom of time, finally, to get busy on this endeavour. Hopefully I'll be able create a small stock of finished pieces to offer.

Life is a busy pursuit, working to pay for it all occupies a lot of time. I want to "make time" to re write my website. Writing all that LONG dialogue went way too far, too much to say. Fact is, I want to sculpt NICE staffs for people to help them walk and to add some style to their walk. End of story. It won't be inexpensive, but it sure will be nice. Canes are a good thing for some people, but I'll say that a staff is superior to a cane. Most people would be very surprised.

Here it is with outdoor temperatures at minus 24 degrees, and that's when the heat in my work shop decided to stop functioning. I suspect it will be a while before I get out to my shop to sculpt some new canes and staffs. Oh well, it takes patience to sculpt hard wood, so being patient has to be part of my nature.
